I thought he was being a little brazen and careless, but it turns out he was bringing a letter of Iran's response to a letter that Iraq had sent out on behalf of Saudi Arabia in order to ease tensions between the two countries in the region.

Iran seems to be somewhat less capable and lost without him.

When Iranian proxies attacked the embassy in Baghdad. 561 miles and 40 years from the former US Embassy in Tehran. 1979 the year Sullimani joined the Islamic Revolution. I think he had to go. He was very good at his job, His loss it turns out, makes the Iranian security apparatus less effective.

That it damaged Iran is no question. I just wish we were a little better actor with our ally Iraq.
