HELL NO. First there's the little question of separating the sheep from the goats. (You can't.) Instead all you'd be doing is moving would-be terrorists, sorry 'freedom fighters' from one pen to another. Secondly there's no space. Look at a map, Israel and and the Palestinian territories are tiny and West bank is already crowed. Thirdly there's no housing for them and Gaza has a population of about 2.3 million. Lastly Israel has been annexing Palestinian land in the West Bank now for years to house Jewish communities and regards the West bank as a defacto part of Israel. Many Israeli's would deport every Palestinian in the West Bank to Gaza if they could.

Not really hard to do. It's managed to get half way there already without the need for any outside help.

The Republicans will go ape shit of course and will start demanding anything Israel needs be re-diverted to them! Putin will be smiling over breakfast this morning. He can and will try to exploit this for all it's worth.
No kidding. This must be his wet dream come true. US focus is now temporally distracted with two events now. Ordinance to two countries. The far-right here probably saying why bother with them. Some might even prefer that we arm the Palestinians since they are fighting Jews. Western Europe all in a dither as happens when the Middle East flares up. As Lt. Holden said in Operation Petticoat "In confusion, there is profit"

The pro-Palestinian protests in Western countries are...something. I saw one person elsewhere describe it as being "Ireland-brained", which seems accurate.

                    2. The "Israelis getting caught by surprise in spite of, if true, an Egyptian warning them" completely mirrors the original Yom Kippur War.
                    3. The grand design for the reason behind the attack strikes me to stop Arabs accepting Israeli state identity. Hamas will take some casualties and life will get worse for people in Gaza and the West Bank, but from the point of view of if you want to stop recognizance of Israeli state legitimacy, the Israelis will react, the Arabs in all those other states will prioritize Arab deaths over Israeli deaths because that's what partisans in wars do, and Israeli-Arab state rapproachment will cease for a generation. If this goes on a few weeks and Israel pound Gaza, the Saudis aren't going to be able to stand up to their public outcry that much, not when Mohammed Bin Salman doesn't owe Biden much of anything to start with.
                    4. My gut feeling is the Iranians are involved. They tend to be in everything in the Middle East, so no more presidential administrations giving them deals okay?
                    5. Netanyahu being Netanyahu, I wonder if they just annex Gaza pushing all the Palestinians out into Egypt or a la Lebanon setup large neutral zones, which would drive further outcry but from an Israeli hawk's perspective, lessens a potential source of geopolitical risk.
                    6. No Western country except probably the U.S. are going to be able to give anything to a prolonged conflict. They already gave everything to Ukraine and haven't restocked. I don't think this will be prolonged however.
No this is not true. We still have plenty, especially of some of the reloads on the systems Israel is using. As for hardware we have exhausted all the allowed transfers of munitions & equipment to Ukraine that have been authorized by legislation. Assistance to Israel is an entirely different bailiwick and is based on long standing approvals and arrangements.

We have a fair amount we can still provide...plenty more if we ever get a budget.

If you mean "we" as in U.S., yeah I said the U.S. could. If you mean "we" as NATO, that's a more open question. The UK Defence Ministry said in the past 2 weeks they had nothing left to give Ukraine. Logic dictates they have nothing to give Israel unless they were lying about didn't have any more to give Ukraine.

Politico Playbook this morning said they have shipments already allocated to Israel, they'll just speed those up. If they have to do extra, an early Biden administration strategy was to tie Ukraine and Israel funding together on the same bill to force anti-Ukraine spending Republicans to vote against Israel funding and anti-Israel spending Democrats (so far just the Squad types although may extend to all DSA members if this goes on say a month) to vote against Ukraine funding. But private legislator comments was dubious on tying funding together if it meant an Israel package would not pass.

Good time for there not being a Speaker in the House.

And a hold up of military appointments.

And a hold up of an ambassador to Israel.
