The Kyiv Independent news service reports that Polish-donated PT-91 Twardy tanks are now in Ukraine. The PT-91 is a modernized version of the T-72 developed domestically in Poland, which is said to have had about 230 of them. How many of those PT-91s are in Ukraine is unknown, but Poland early in the war transferred 240 T-72s to Kyiv and is buying U.S.-built M1 Abrams tanks, as well as South Korean models, to backfill the capability gap opened up by that gift.

Also now confirmed in Ukrainian service are German Mars II M270 guided multiple launch rocket systems and three more PzH 2000 tracked howitzers. German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced the deliveries on July 26. The transfers were later confirmed by Andriy Yermak, a member of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s cabinet.

One of the German howitzers was seen firing alongside a Soviet-era Ukrainian 2S7 artillery cannon, demonstrating the variety of both NATO and Soviet equipment that is active in the war zone.

He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

I love to see Ukraine get some proper bridge busting munitions.

My worry is that the Ukrainians are potentially telegraphing their intentions by (apparently) focusing on this one particular bridge. Yes, I assume there are 'wheels within wheels' and that maybe this particular bridge near Kherson is a distraction i.e. the intent is to force the Russians to react and re-deploy. But honestly? I worry that from Ukraine's perspective, if the plan is to retake Kherson then the best option might well have been to hold fire until they were confident they had sufficient 'mass' to take out the bridge (and any other strategic target) in one 'hit' shortly before they initiated an offensive.

Some retired general's take on one of the Euro networks is that the Ukrainian strategy may be to make the Russian positions in Kherson logistically untenable, and force a withdrawal, like in Kiev, Chernhiv, Sumy, and Kharkhiv.

I saw somewhere the Russians were starting preparations to build a pontoon bridge further up the river on Jul 22. No further updates on this effort I could find. Putting a pontoon bridge across the Dnipro, I imagine, would be a logistical challenge an order of magnitude more difficult than crossing a small river like the Sivery Donets, back in May.

Standard MLRS warhead is 200 pounds...a Harpoon warhead is 488 pounds. Do the math.

              • So the Ukrainian shelling of Snake Island was not done new NATO howitzers but it's own homegrown self-propelled howitzer Bohdana 155mm.

And look at the tube bounce after firing. Just like the M-107.

IIRC time between rounds was around 2 min. Waiting for the tube to stop bouncing/ flexing
There was also a 2 mil drop from the breach to the end of the tube

That...can't be good for barrel life, no?

Rated for 7-10K rounds but other things will go before the barrel. In this case, those axels will die long before the barrel,

Is it just with a layman's optics; but isn't the actions getting a bit intense in the south?
Won't it have some kind'a knock-on effect in respect to the Donbas?

A couple of holes made a slab look structurally unsound. Will defeinetely need micro rebar mix for fast fix but don't know any factories in Russia or in the UKR for that matter. Still, nothing unrepairable and relatively fast

                              Could be a decoy action.

Russian answer for the bridge is human shields. Definetely a GC violation.
