True. The attacks were defeated faster, but the damage seems to be on the same order of magnitude. Maybe we underestimated the positive that the Mumbai Police and the Navy's MARCOS did the first day in containing the situation, and overestimated the negative of the delays in NSG deployment?
Frankly, we never anticipated that magnitude of an attack to happen via a sea-route, nor did we have the capability for a quick reaction, then. Mumbai Police did a fine job, while logistics failed NSG deployment. Lack of co-ordination among intel agencies, complacent local police, and the entire country was caught off guard. Now Mumbai has F1. Does Force One have dedicated Helicopters? If not, in case of another attack, precious time will again be lost procuring one or in traffic.

Seems one terrorist has been identified of what has been left of his body. Omar Ismail Mostefai: From petty criminal to cold-blooded terrorist

Omar Ismail Mostefai was known to police as nothing more than a petty criminal before he became the first gunman identified from Friday's attacks in Paris, which left at least 129 dead.

Identified by his finger, which was found among the rubble of the Bataclan concert hall, the 29-year-old was one of three men who blew himself up killing 89 people in the bloodiest scene of the carnage.

In the ENTIRE HISTORY OF WAR, fostering the mutual understanding of the enemy served crap all. The ONLY WAY to victory is the complete and utter destruction of the enemy. We couldn't care less about Shinto temples when we bombed Japan into submission. And we also couldn't care less when Germans were freezing to death when we cut off their heating oil.

Genghis Khan couldn't give two hoots about Islam and even dogs were slaughtered.

It's easy. Too easy to repeat the Holocaust and there will be a point when IS wished they didn't push Christian Europe too far. The Russians are more than ready to commit genocide. The West was never that far behind.

I paid my respects to the victims today. May they rest in peace. May the terrorists burn in hell.

Bataclan is about 300 meters down the street in the 3rd picture.

Have to bring the like button back. At what point does it matter that there are decent or "innocent" people among these animals if they fail to do or say anything to stop the ones committing atrocities? I'm sure there had to be some decent Germans in WW2, but when the death camps continued to run in their midst and nazi tanks and bombers were overrunning Eurasia what choice was there? And the West is not the only target of these people- all of Africa north of the equator has felt the ire of this movement and elsewhere in the world as well. I'm all in favor of compassion, understanding and tolerance, but how can you be tolerant of people who refuse to live in a society where theirs isn't the only voice. And I don't intend to be tolerant to the point of suicide. That's where tolerance morphs into stupidity.

Be careful what you are saying, you might end up in Hague despite the fact that you are coming from the West.

The firebombings of Fresden, Hamburg, Tokyo, not to mention Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We're not going to line them up against the wall and shoot them, put them to the knife. nor herd them into gas chambers. They will die where they live and they won't see it coming.

Kill them all, and let God sort them out, is that it? So, to eliminate the KKK threat back when it was peaking, slaughtering Christians left and right would have been the solution?

So, I wonder if the guy/guys traveling from Syria are the ring leaders.

it would make some sense. operatives are mostly french locals, but send in combat hardened leadership to anchor the group and make sure the op goes down right.

still, if they got the guns through former Yugoslavia where did they get the suicide vests? that's a custom jihadi piece of kit. making standardized vests for all 7 took an expert operation. were they made in EU or smuggled in from outside?
