Border face-off: China and India each deploy 3,000 troops
do you really think China is really serious about a bunch of worthless rocks?
The question I'd be asking is what are they really eyeing? I don't know what it is but I do know it ain't Galwan. Galwan is just the distraction/bargining chip.
How do I know this? Let say India retreats. What does the Chinese really have? More rocks. So what are they really eyeing?
You really need to learn to how and why to read the enemy.
Military axiom. Force on weak. When they're ready to take what they want, you won't be there to stop them. You'd be somewhere where they want you to be.
Well, I want to be where they want to take.
Start asking questions and keep asking them. You may not get any answers and often you won't.
BUT the questions themselves would start forming a pattern. That pattern would lead you to more insights.
Five months later nobody, can substantiate with evidence what they want.
I think this is important. If we don't know their intent we don't have way to respond. Not fully.
We are limited to tactical countering manouevers at best which is what has transpired to date.
They have contained our freedom of action and its up to them now where they want to take it.
We're prepared for any eventuality.
This is what govt critics do not appreciate. You want GOI to do something. Great!. To what end ?
Some one i asked this question said push them back. Well, is that escalation or is there a way to do it without escalating.
The govt to date has rendered their position in Pangong worthless. Galwan is taken care of.
Depsang is a work in progress.
So GOI has done something, if not up to everyone's expectation.
I don't know about winning but why aren't they getting called out ?
Public opinion is ahead of the official policy. See the comments
Didn't watch the video, but the comments are all worth it. Specially the last one.
Politicians are elected to serve...far too many don't see it that way - Albany Rifles! || Loyalty to country always. Loyalty to government, when it deserves it - Mark Twain! || I am a far left millennial!
It's be interesting to read Ashok Kantha's article.

Well, I also don't recognise illegal occupation of Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, SCS/ECS islands and bullying of Taiwan. As if talks will change anything on the ground, than what the communist Nazis have already gobbled.

On 12 October, the 7th round of Senior Commanders meeting of India and China was held in Chushul.
The two sides had a sincere, in-depth and constructive exchange of views on disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in the Western Sector of India-China border areas.
They were of the view that these discussions were positive, constructive and had enhanced understanding of each other’s positions.
Both sides agreed to maintain dialogue and communication through military and diplomatic channels, and arrive at a mutually acceptable solution for disengagement as early as possible.
Both sides agreed to earnestly implement the important understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, not to turn differences into disputes, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in the border areas.
The article does not cover it but we lost a satellite the night of the first surgical strike. Sept 29 2016
Some people think that was a China kill but isn't being officially acknowledged.
Do you have a/any source for that?

Rohit has a second video explaining the SSN sector.
4:30 DBO gives Indian a foothold into Aksai Chin. However its loss will threaten India's hold of the Siachen Glacier, Nubra Valley & Shyok valley.
As Shiv showed in his video the most 'disputed territory' grabbed by the PLA is in Depsang which is close to DBO.
You see the problem ? to push the PLA out of Depsang risks the three areas hence 'complicated' situation which is a polite way of saying they got us by the balls.
Likely they are anticipating such a move and this will be Xi's chance to 'inflict a defeat' on India.
Swamy says we should give them an ultimatum. Retreat by a certain date or be thrown out.
War !!
This is the more radical of the public views.
Safe to say this is not GOI's position but we have to realise that a decision can be made and overnight its a different scenario.
Military options are still on the table.
Now I think Swami could have been a better choice as MoD than Rajnath, if only he could have controlled his mouth. He was never a BJP ideologue nor an RSS guy, so a big portfolio is ruled out anyway. He can't be a bootlicker like Smriti Irani and get a post, which can be a drawback sometimes.
Coming to the BJP, they are so fcuking focussed on internal elections (states/councils/municipalities - their main aim is to decimate the dynast Congress), they have been losing focus - economy, defence. I don't say they have not done anything, but my expectations were much more than what they have done in 6 years. BJP cannot always say Congress started constructing this bridge 20 years back, and the BJP finished it in 6.
When the Chinese first intruded into Depsang sector, without informing the press and keeping P4 informed, we should have kicked the PLA out. The Indian Army is battle ready, but the politicians are not.
