    • I wonder if Russia is holding us back. They sell us weapons against China's wishes but that also allows Russia to prevent us from using them.

Russians said there was nothing to worry in April and we found out the hard way.

Russia is the more important player here than the US considering Russia has leverage with both countries.

Vlad prefers Russia to play the king maker role.

The question I'd be asking is what are they really eyeing? I don't know what it is but I do know it ain't Galwan. Galwan is just the distraction/bargining chip.

How do I know this? Let say India retreats. What does the Chinese really have? More rocks. So what are they really eyeing?

Military axiom. Force on weak. When they're ready to take what they want, you won't be there to stop them. You'd be somewhere where they want you to be.
Well, I want to be where they want to take.

Start asking questions and keep asking them. You may not get any answers and often you won't.

BUT the questions themselves would start forming a pattern. That pattern would lead you to more insights.
Five months later nobody, can substantiate with evidence what they want.

I think this is important. If we don't know their intent we don't have way to respond. Not fully.

We are limited to tactical countering manouevers at best which is what has transpired to date.

They have contained our freedom of action and its up to them now where they want to take it.

        We're prepared for any eventuality.

This is what govt critics do not appreciate. You want GOI to do something. Great!. To what end ?

Some one i asked this question said push them back. Well, is that escalation or is there a way to do it without escalating.

The govt to date has rendered their position in Pangong worthless. Galwan is taken care of.

Depsang is a work in progress.

So GOI has done something, if not up to everyone's expectation.

              • China has 60,000 troops on LAC, talks won’t work, warns US | TOI | Oct 11 2020

Looks like they've upped their numbers. Earlier we were talking 30k PLA at the border.

The last commanders meet had the statement not to increase numbers further so i think it was referring to the number Pompeo mentioned.

60k is half of the 12 divisions we have tasked to deal with China.

So we can play this high stakes poker game too.

China's also objecting to our infrastructure building. We've built round 45 bridges in the past few weeks.

They don't have that bargaining chip any more.

                • Joint Press Release of the 7th Round of India-China Military Commander-Level Meeting | MEA | Oct 13 2020

                  October 13, 2020

On 12 October, the 7th round of Senior Commanders meeting of India and China was held in Chushul.

The two sides had a sincere, in-depth and constructive exchange of views on disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in the Western Sector of India-China border areas.

They were of the view that these discussions were positive, constructive and had enhanced understanding of each other’s positions.

Both sides agreed to maintain dialogue and communication through military and diplomatic channels, and arrive at a mutually acceptable solution for disengagement as early as possible.

Both sides agreed to earnestly implement the important understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, not to turn differences into disputes, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in the border areas.

                    • 15 minute mark on. CCP wants to inflict a defeat on India and humiliate its govt.

PLAGF aren't present in sufficient numbers to capture territory.

So we need to stop thinking of territory.

What does this mean then ?

Some action that will block our access to DBO & Siachen. If they can pull it off thereby securing PO J&K and CPEC.

This is the scenario Rohit mentioned earlier.

Shiv mentioned the karakoram pass isn't blocked in winter as it does not snow much there so operations are possible in that area in the winter.

This means they will want to do something in Ladakh.

This is going back a couple of years, but there is a NASA publication that tracks things in orbit and it said we lost a satellite on that date.

I don't buy that China did it though. The media would pick up on it and ask questions. None did.

This story has two weak points to it.

That we would hide a loss like the Paks saying the surgical strikes never happened.

That the media is controlled in India so did not bring it up.

                          • Swamy says we should give them an ultimatum. Retreat by a certain date or be thrown out.

                            War !!

This is the more radical of the public views.

Safe to say this is not GOI's position but we have to realise that a decision can be made and overnight its a different scenario.

Military options are still on the table.

                            • Rohit has a second video explaining the SSN sector.

4:30 DBO gives Indian a foothold into Aksai Chin. However its loss will threaten India's hold of the Siachen Glacier, Nubra Valley & Shyok valley.

As Shiv showed in his video the most 'disputed territory' grabbed by the PLA is in Depsang which is close to DBO.

You see the problem ? to push the PLA out of Depsang risks the three areas hence 'complicated' situation which is a polite way of saying they got us by the balls.

Likely they are anticipating such a move and this will be Xi's chance to 'inflict a defeat' on India.

Now I think Swami could have been a better choice as MoD than Rajnath, if only he could have controlled his mouth. He was never a BJP ideologue nor an RSS guy, so a big portfolio is ruled out anyway. He can't be a bootlicker like Smriti Irani and get a post, which can be a drawback sometimes.

Coming to the BJP, they are so fcuking focussed on internal elections (states/councils/municipalities - their main aim is to decimate the dynast Congress), they have been losing focus - economy, defence. I don't say they have not done anything, but my expectations were much more than what they have done in 6 years. BJP cannot always say Congress started constructing this bridge 20 years back, and the BJP finished it in 6.

When the Chinese first intruded into Depsang sector, without informing the press and keeping P4 informed, we should have kicked the PLA out. The Indian Army is battle ready, but the politicians are not.
