I wish to remind you all that long ago Kabul bathed in the glory of the Indian Conquest.
And today, the children of Kabul are treated, educated and fed by many countries including Hindustan - a country which the rulers of Kabul once claimed they had conquered.
I can go to Kabul anyday and earn a lot of friends in the market streets with my 'Hindustani' identity.
This forum may not be enough to describe the goodwill we 'Hindustanis' enjoy there. This, my friends, is the true conquest of a Country.
I wonder how many countries have earned so much goodwill in Afghan despite being so near and providing living space and employment for a few million Afghans - with enough international money flowing in, ofcourse. :)

Mujahideen had international support, including from powerful Uncle. The were fed, financed and equipped by the US via Pakistan aslong as they fought against the Sovjets and served uncle's interest in the region. Uncle cut off support dratically after Sovjet pull out resulting in the birth of talibanism right from the very mujahideens. So, who's to blame...?
Actually American poured in aid after ths Soviets left but got rather tired of the fact the Afghan civil war broke out. And you can't blame the USA for someone supporting the Taliban. To sit down with these men and deal with them as the representatives of an enlightened and civilized people is to deride ones own dignity and to invite the disaster of their treachery - General Matthew Ridgway

History of emperor Prithviraj Chauhan
In the aftermath of the loot of Mahmud of Ghazni, the people had lost their faith in temples, mutts and the Panda priests. The Gurus and sadhus were still revered. The rajput kingdoms were fighting among themselves. The rajput rajas would spend their time in fighting over women and marriages. Eight months of the year would be spent like this. They were indolent and their time was spent in lustful activities. The Charan Bhats would spend their time making up false stories to please their masters, and cause their masters to quarrel and fight with each other. The country was divided into petty kingdoms.
Afghanistan was the seat of the Gaur /Ghaur Islamic Clan. They were quite powerful. Mahmud Ghazni had seized their kingdom by treachery. Allaudin mounted an attack on Ghazni, seized it and destroyed it. Ghazni at time was one of the more beautiful cities in the world. Allaudin spared the tomb of Ghazni and put the rest of the city to fire, the inhabitants of the city were enslaved. After Allaudin, Safudin became the Sultan. Gyasuddin became Sultan after Safudin and Vahiudin. His younger brother Shahbudin Ghori followed him.
Chitrarekha was a beautiful Indian dancing girl, who had been forcibly kidnapped from India by Mir Hussein the son of Shahbudin's paternal Uncle because Shahbudin passionately desired this dancer. He compelled that dancer to marry him.
But Chitrarekha was in love with handsome King Prithviraj Chauhan. She escaped from Ghazni and ran away to Ajmer, where he took shelter with Prithviraj Chauhan. Prithviraj Chauhan also became infatuated with this dancing girl and made grant preparations to marry Chitrarekha.
At that time the Chauhans were to be found in Ajmer. Vigraraj was the earlier the ruler. His son Prithviraj was now the ruler of Ajmer. In Delhi also, Prithviraj Chauhan was ruling. He was son of the daughter of the Tanwar (Tomar) Anandpal. So Prithviraj was the King of both Delhi and Ajmer and in this way became the most powerful rajput ruler of North India. In Kannauj Jaichand Gahadwala, was in power. In Bengal, Luxman Sen, in Bundelkhand Parmal Chandela had who his capital at Mahobeh. In Malwa, Bhoj of the Parmar clan was ruling. In Gujarat, in Anhilwara, Bhimdev was in power.
Shahbudin took the excuse of Chitrarekha and mounted a siege on Ajmer, in 1191 CE but lost. Prithviraj had a very large army than that of Ghori. So Ghori was defeated. But he escaped from the hands of Prithviraj and reached his Muslim empire. Immediately after this victory, Prithviraj married that beautiful dancer and had a sweet honeymoon.
In this first battle Prithviraj’s army consists of three lakh horses, three thousand elephants and six lakh soldiers. But the Muslim army had only fifty thousand soldiers in horses. So they could not win this war. The Rajput army pushed Ghauri troops back 25 miles. After Prithviraja acquired Chitrarekha, he was sunk in depravation, drank grape wine day and night and was constantly having coitus with his beautiful dancer bride.
A Bhat (Bard) Hariprakash painted an accurate picture of the depraved conditions of the monarchial courts. The rajas had become characterless. They fought over women. They succumbed to beautiful women. Prithviraj lost many of his leaders in these blood sport fights over women. Prithviraj had become a fallen person, and was found drunk day and night in his harem of prostitutes. His court was full of women talk. Heroism had rusted. Prostitutes danced daily in his courts. The eyes were closed to the Islamic Jihad.
The Chauhan, Rahtors, and Chandelas were being destroyed by in fighting. Prithviraj went to war with Jaichand over a woman. He brought many women to his harem in this manner. But this woman was Samyukta, the only daughter of Jaichand. Samyukta was the most beautiful princess in the world then. Prithviraj was very much infatuated towards her when he met her in Kannouj. Samyukta too was in deep love with handsome Prithviraj. But Jaichand didn’t want to give his daughter to Prithviraj because she would become widow at any time as immortal Ghori was waiting to kill Prithviraj. But Samyukta eloped with Prithviraj from her swayamvar to Delhi. They married happily and marriage celebrations were grandly conducted. Prithviraj had a wonderful first night with his new wife Samyukta. This handsome king lost himself in his wife's beauty and love. He had a very lusty endless honeymoon with beautiful Samyukta. Prithviraj never left his harem and was always having coitus with his lovely new wife. His Senapati (general) and his soldiers also became drunks and developed bad habits and behavior. They too always had coitus with the women.
Seeing these conditions, Shahbudin Ghauri once more attacked Delhi in 1192 CE. This time his aim was not only to kill Prithviraj and capture Chitrarekha but also to rape Samyukta. Prithviraj had lost many of his commanders in these petty bloodsport fights over women. Chandra Bhan Bhat somehow got Prithviraj out of his Harem. A 10,00,000 strong army was collected. The brother in law of Prithviraj, Samar Singh, the Raja of Chittor brought 1,20,000 troops. The father in law of Prithviraj, Jaichand contributed 1,80,000 troops, Bhimdev, the king of Gujarat, contributed 1,00,000 troops, others sent 1,00,000 troops and in this manner the army's strength was raised to 15,00,000. The army was very large. Ghori’s troops consists of 1,00,000 soldiers. This battle was fought near Thaneswar (modern Haryana near Karnal). Rana Samar Singh and 5,00,000 guest troops fought for five hours. When these 5,00,000 warriors had been sacrificed, then the 10,00,000 strong army of Prithviraj Chauhan advanced.
The seasoned warriors of this army had already been lost, sacrificed to the blood sports of Prithviraj over women. The army was consisting of new green recruits. They were brought up in a life of ease, women and drink. In an hour most of them were killed and others ran away, and the battle was over. Prithviraj, who ran away from the war, was captured by Ghori; Shahbudin hoisted his flag of victory over Delhi. Prithviraj Chauhan was taken to Afghanistan where Ghori cut down his dic, blinded him and tortured him to death. Ghori captured the heavenly harem of Prithviraj. He was amazed because he had never seen such beautiful ladies in his life. He repeatedly raped Samyukta, the most beautiful wife of Prithviraj. He also raped Chitrarekha. His generals alternatively raped all the beautiful women of chauhan’s harem. Ghori forcibly carried Samyukta, Chitrarekha and other wives of Prithviraj along with him to Ghazni. Prithviraj’s wives were dumped in Ghori’s harem where they were subjected to constant rapes by the Muslims. Most of the rajputs were killed, their wives were raped and their children were made slaves by the Muslims. Others submitted to Islam to escape from massacre and rapes. In 1194, Jaichand, who helped prithviraj was defeated and killed.
The reasons of the defeat of the Chauhans and the Rathores (Prithviraj Chauhan and Jai Chand Rathor) by Mohamad Ghauri:
" His (Prithviraj's) character had fallen. He was drunk day and night, and spent his time in the harems. His focus had strayed from looking after the well being of the population, maintenance of military skills, teaching his soldiers military skills, and
protection of the nation. He had become a lazy Philanderer and his lust doubled after he possessed Samyukta. His Senapati (general) and his soldiers also became drunks and developed bad habits and behavior. Like their King, they also always had coitus with their wives. Jaichand Rathore helped Prithviraj to save his daughter from the hands of cruel Ghori and his ugly Muslims. At the end he (Jaichand) too received the reward of death."

The government of Afghanistan ought to be congratulated on sending Pakistan that clear message. Pakistan's illustrious history of fiddling the great Afghan mess and fondling the Taliban scumbags wont happen again. They can try though, and get their butts baked by the US presidential stick. ;)
Carrots and stick you know, they go together. You were given carrots till now, but it is time for the stick again !
Missiles made from borrowed technology being given names borrowed from the history of other countries ! The least Pakistan could have done is to have selected names that were genuinely Pakistani ! So much so for originality in that country.
Names such as Kim Yong or Kom-ying would have sufficed actually.Last edited by Karthik; 21 Mar 06,, 18:25.

Second battle of Tarain 1192 A.D
The Second Battle of Tarain took place on January 14, 1192 at Tarain (Haryana State, India), about 80 miles (130 km) north of Delhi. The battle crushed the Rajput Empire. The main battle was fought between the forces under Sultan Shihad-ud-din Muhammed Ghori and the Rajput hosts under Prithviraj Chauhan. It is believed that nearly 30,00,000 Chauhan soldiers died and many were injured in the one-day battle, though some historians estimate the total to be nearer to 50,00,000. Though the Muslim army was very small(50,000 soldiers) compared to hindu army(50,00,000 soldiers), the loses under the banner of Islam was very minimal i.e, only 5,000 casualities.
The battle pitted the elephants, archers and trained cavalry of the Rajputs against the light cavalry of the Afghans. The scenario would have been slightly in favour of the Rajputs had not their own cavalry decided to charge prematurely, which lead to their defeat. Rajput forces were so heavily depleted that the Chauhan Empire fell, and the expansion of the Rajput power ended. The battle was most decisive because it crushed the Chauhan Empire's dream of uniting India.
The Rajputs had gained control of a considerable chunk of India in the intervening period (1107-1187). A large Rajput force restablised the Delhi administration after the invading Ghazni army retreated. After his invasion in 1024, Muhmud Ghazni had left the Rajputs in nominal control which however, proved to be a fateful mistake when his son, proved to be utterly incapable of maintaining control over the conquered territories. Soon the local population rose in revolt and asked for the protection of the Rajputs. Prithviraj Chauhan, the famed Rajput leader raised a powerful army consisting of one million Rajputs, and was successful in ousting Ghazni and his court from India. Ghazni`s fleeing army was defeated at various stations. The Rajputs chased him right up to Attock, at the base of the Khyber Pass, and Punjab was brought under their dominion.
Muhammed Ghori could not allow this to go unchecked, and in 1191 raised an army from the Ghori tribes with help from Ghazni, and invaded India once again. By the end of the year they had reached Lahore, but Rajputs continued to pour into the conflict and by 1192 had formed a single army of over 30, 00,000 to block him.
There followed much manoeuvring, with skirmishes fought at Karnal, Kunjapura. After the Rajputs failed to prevent Ghori's forces crossing the Saraswati river, they set up defensive works in the excellent ground near Tarain, thereby blocking Ghori's access back to Afghanistan just as his forces blocked theirs to south. Ghori slowly tightened the noose by cutting off the Rajput Army's supply lines. Their supplies and stores dwindling, the Rajputs then moved in almost 150 pieces of Hindu archery groups. With a range of several kilometres, these archers were some of the best of the times.
The Afghan forces arrived in late 1191 to find the Rajputs in well-prepared works. Realizing a direct attack was hopeless, they set up for a siege. The resulting face-off lasted two months. During this time Ghori continued to receive supplies from Ghazni. The Rajputs, however, had no difficulty in securing supplies, the local population having become hostile to Muslims. In their policy of intolerance towards non-muslims, Afghans had pillaged the surrounding Hindu population. This offense resulted in the Jats and other hindus joining on Prithviraj’s army in the war, and thus the Afghans were left without resupply in the battle zone. This battle zone was probably between Kaalaa Aamb and Sanauli Road of today. The Afghan lines probably were a few metres to the south of Sanauli road. Rajput lines began a little to the north of Kaalaa Aamb. They had thus blocked the northward path of Ghori's troops and at the same time they themselves were blocked by the latter from the south which was the direction to Delhi, where they could get badly needed supplies.
Realizing the situation was not in their favour, the Rajputs under Prithviraj Chauhan decided to break the siege. His plan was to pulverise the enemy formations with archery fire and not to employ his cavalry until the Afghans were thoroughly softened up. With the Afghans now broken, he would move camp in a defensive formation towards Delhi, where they had their supplies.
The line would be formed up some 26km across, with the bowmen in front, protected by infantry and elephants. The cavalry was instructed to wait behind the elephants and bowmen, ready to be thrown in when control of battlefield had been fully established.
Behind this line was another ring of 3,00,000 servant-maids who were not battle tested, and then the roughly 3,00,000 prostitutes entrained. Many were high class men, women and children on their pilgrimage to the Hindu holy places and shrines, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Aryavarta (Aryan Land). The women were irrationally confident of the Rajput army, regarding it as one of the best in the world, and definitely one of the most powerful in Asia. Behind the women was yet another protective infantry line, of 10,00,000 young inexperienced soldiers.
Before dawn on January 14, 1192 the Rajput forces emerged from the trenches, pushing the archers into position on their pre-arranged lines, some 2km from the Afghans. Seeing that the battle was on, Ghori positioned his 60 archer groups and opened arrow fire. However, because of the short range of the weapons, the Rajput lines remained untouched. Ghori then launched a cavalry attack to break their lines.
The first defensive arrow attack of the Rajputs went over the Afghans' heads and inflicted very little damage, but the Afghan attack was nevertheless broken by Rajput bowmen and elephants, along with some famed Rajput generals stationed close to the archery positions. The second and subsequent arrow attacks were fired at point blank range into the Afghan ranks. The resulting carnage sent the Afghans reeling back to their lines. The Chauhan-style plan had worked just as envisioned.
The Rajputs then started moving their infantry formation forward, led by the elephants. The Afghans responded with repeated cavalry attacks, all of which failed. About 1,000 Afghan cavalry and infantrymen lost their lives in this opening stage of the battle.
At this stage it looked as though Prithviraj would clinch victory for the Rajputs once again. However, some of the Rajput lieutenants, particularly Govind Rai and Khandae Rai, decided to exploit the gaps in the enemy lines & dash; despite strict instructions not to charge or engage Afghan cavalry in hand to hand fight. The mass of Rajput horsemen raced through their own artillery lines and charged towards the demoralised Afghans, intending to cut the faltering army in two.
The over-enthusiasm of the charge saw many of the Rajput horses exhausted long before they had travelled the two kilometres to the Afghan lines; some simply collapsed. Making matters worse was the suffocating odour of the rotting corpses of men and animals left on the field from the fighting of the previous months. Still, a major mass of Rajput cavalry collided with the Afgan cavalry, initially taking down a few hundreds of Afghani troops.
In response, the Afghan officers stiffened their troops resistance. Ghori sent his body guards to call up his reserves of 10,000 from his camp and arranged it as column right in front his cavalry of archers and spear-men on the back of camels. Because of their positioning on camels they could throw their spears over the heads of their own infantry and at the Rajput cavalry, who were unable to withstand the cavalry and camel-mounted spears of the Afghans. Ghori had 2000 such spear-men. They could be fired without the rider having to dismount and were especially effective against fast moving cavalry.
With their own men in the firing line, the Rajput archers could not respond, and about 70,000 chauhan cavalry and infantry perished before the hand to hand fighting began at around 2PM. By 4PM the tired Rajput infantry began to succumb to the onslaught of attacks from fresh Turko-Afghan reserves, though protected by armoured metal jackets.
The Rajput army had captured some afghan slaves earlier during the siege of Bhatinda. They had not been trusted to be in the front line because their loyalty was suspect. As they were captured slaves, saw an opportunity to avenge the humiliation. They started fighting the Rajput army from the inside. This brought confusion and great consternation to loyal Rajput soldiers, who thought that the enemy had attacked from behind.
Prithviraj Chauhan, seeing his forward lines dwindling and women behind, could not move forward his young soldiers as reserves from behind and felt he had no choice but to come down from his elephant and lead the battle at the head of household troops. He left instructions with his bodyguards that, if the battle were lost, they must kill his new wife Samyuktha, for he could not tolerate her being dishonoured by the Afghans.
Some Rajput soldiers, seeing that their raja had disappeared from his elephant, panicked and began to flee. Khandae Rai, the big general, had already fallen to a spear shot in the head. Govind Rai and his loyal bodyguards fought to the end but they were massacred by the Muslims. The Rajput leader Prithviraj Chauhan having three horses shot out from under him by afghan archers when he tried to escape from the battle-field was finally butchered by Qutub-ud-din Aibak, Ghori’s loyal slave general, near Sirsuti.
The Afghans pursued the fleeing Rajput army, while the Rajput front lines remained largely intact, with some of their archery units fighting until sundown. Choosing not to launch a night attack, made good their escape that night. Mass of surrendered Rajput soldiers were handcuffed and then murdered, their heads chopped off by Afghans to earn blessings for killing Kafirs on account of their families back in Afghanistan.
(“the unhappy prisoners were paraded in long lines, given a little parched grain and a drink of water, and beheaded… and the women and children who survived were driven off as slaves - twenty-two hundred thousand, many of them of the highest aristocratic rank in the land, says the Siyar-ut-Mutakhirin.”22)
About 30, 00,000 Rajput soldiers alike were slain this way on 15 January 1192. Many of the fleeing Rajput women jumped into the Tarain wells rather than risk rape and dishonour. Many others did their best to hide in the villages near Tarain when even the Hindus themselves refused to give them refuge in fear of Muslims.
The main reason for the failure of Rajputs was that they went to war with their women. Prithviraj Chauhan was just married and so he could not leave his wife alone. During the face-off period of two months Prithviraj had planned nothing to surprise the Muslims. He simply spent the time in honeymoon with his new beautiful bride Samyuktha at Tarain. As a result Samyuktha became pregnant and the Rajputs even had a festival for this joy just before the battle begun. Following their King, the Rajput soldiers began to enjoy with their women and wine in the face-off period. This is the fatal reason for Rajput defeat. Though their infantry and cavalry were based on upto date style contingent and had some of the best Hindu made bow and arrow of the times, they failed to organize. They had interfered in the internal affairs of the Muslim states (in far north west) and levied heavy taxes and huge fines on them. Their raids in the Ghazni territory had angered the Ghazni chiefs. Though they had the strong support of all ranas of Hindustan, these raids therefore united their muslim enemies. Moreover, the Rajput chiefs constantly spent time with the prostitutes. Each one of them had ambitions of marrying many beautiful women and had no interest in fighting against a muslim enemy.
A conservative estimate places Rajput losses at 35, 00,000 on the Tarain battlefield itself. At least 22, 00,000 women and children were captured as prisoners and slaves. According to Mr. Hamilton of Bombay Gazette about half a billion people were present there on Panipat town from Maharashtra and on any rate he gives figure of 40, 00,000 prisoners as executed.
To save their own kingdom, allied Rajputs ran to their native places, forgetting that Chauhans had just lost 50, 00,000 men and so many women for their cause. However, the news soon arrived that Solanki and Gahadwala Rajputs had organised another 20, 00,000 men in the south to avenge their loss and to rescue the captured prisoners. So Ghori left Delhi two months after the battle, heading for Afghanistan with his loot of 5,000 elephants, 15,000 camels, 5,00,000 horses and at least about 22,00,000 women and children. Delhi was under the charge of his general Aibak. Hasan Nizami was left in charge of Chauhan capital Ajmer.
The Rajputs remained in nominal control over small areas of India, but were never a force again. The empire officially ended in 1192 itself when its last emperor Prithviraj Chauhan was killed by Muhammed Ghori.
The Rajputs expansion was stopped in the battle, and soon broke into infighting within their empire. They never regained any unity, and were soon under increasing pressure from the Muslims. Their claims to empire were officially ended in 1194.
It is worth noticing the fact the Rajput empire provided the biggest challenge to the Muslims in the erstwhile India keeping in check the influence of Muslim invaders, forced conversions and oppression of the local people.
This Second Battle of Tarain saw an enormous number of casulties and deaths in a single day of battle, perhaps unmatched even today in the later wars. It was the scene of uncommon valour, unwanted strategic blunders, prostitution, murders of prisoners of war, and large scale rapes perpetrated on women.
The historical record states that a large number of prisoners, mostly female civilians fleeing the battle, were taken as slaves to Afghanistan. It is likely that many of these prisoners died, unaccustomed, as they were, to the cruel abuse of musalmans.

Ghori's strategy of success
In the first battle of Tarain, Muhammed Ghori was defeated by Prithviraj's huge army and he ran away to save his life. Then Prithviraj eloped with beautiful Samyuktha and married her. Samyuktha aroused Prithviraj's lust andso Prithviraj continued his honeymoon endlessly with his new wife and enjoyed the pleasure of having coitus with his queen continuously in his harem on the bed made of flowers. On the other hand Ghori never went to his wife, never slept in the bed, never changed his clothes, nor took bath. Ghori practised hard for another battle and soon he formed an army of 10,000 muslims. On the other hand Prithviraj had become father for a child and again made samyuktha pregnant. Prithviraj never practised for battle but daily(24 hrs) had coitus with his Queen and sodomized her during menses. Samyuktha felt as if she were in the heavens when Prithviraj enjoyed her. When Ghori heard that Prithviraj had formed a vast army of more than 20,00,000 hindus to defeat him, he became weary and felt grief how to face such a vast army. He went to his baba Khwaja Chisti and seeked his advice. Khwaja made a smile and took Ghori to a village near a dense forest. Ghori was confused. They climbed a tree near a huge cattle-herd and watched. In the cattle herd there were many bulls and cows and in the evening the bulls and the cows started to have coitus and the bulls were vigourously pumping into the cows. Suddenly a wolf arrived and started to attack the herd. The herd was stunned but could not move as the bulls and cows were locked in coitus. The wolf first attacked the soft part of the bulls and cows, i.e, their private organs(tasty!) and ate it. As the wolf ate private parts of all the cattles, it’s hunger was fulfilled. Soon the herd was in blood-fllood as they lost their private parts. Then the wolf killed all the cattles one by one quickly and easily as they were already dying and dragged the whole dead herd into it's den and stored them for it's future. Then Khwaja turned to Ghori and told that you were a wolf and that Prithviraj and hindus were merely bulls and cows. Ghori became very happy and Khwaja blessed him and ordered him to follow that wolf. Ghori and Prithviraj encamped in the battlefield of Tarain for their second encounter. Ghori sent a letter to Prithviraj in which he ordered Prithvi to embrace Islam and submit his queen Samyuktha to Ghori. Prithviraj sent a reply in which he said that hindus were far superior to muslims in number and he requested Ghori to go back. Ghori replied that he will consider Prithvi's request and moved back his camp. Seeing the muslims going back Prithviraj was delighted, laughed and shouted that the muslims were cowards. He ordered for the celebrations. In this second battle the rajput army was accompanied by vast contigents of wives, servant-maids and prostitutes. They began to enjoy their victory celebrations with their women and had coitus with those beautiful womenfolk throughout the night. Prithviraj took his beautiful pregnant wife samyuktha to the battlefield and enjoyed that night with her. He enjoyed with her and continuously had coitus even without sleeping. Suddenly in the early morning, the muslims attacked the hindu camp and entered their tents. Each and every rajput hindu soldiers were having coitus with sexy women andso could not fight with the enemy. The muslims cutoff the private parts of the all hindu soldiers, killed them and raped their women. Ghori entered into Prithviraj's tent after killing his vanguards with their wives. Prithviraj was having peak coitus with beautiful Samyuktha and when the couple saw ugly Ghori inside their tent, they smooched each other and cried for help. But none to save that lovely couple. Ghori cutoff Prithviraj's private part and ate it as per his baba's order. Then he chopped off Prithviraj's head and killed the last Hindu Emperor. Ghori raped Samyuktha again and again and forced her into his harem. He forced Samyuktha to embrace Islam and converted her to Islam. Ghori then made her his Chief-Queen and gave her the the title mallika-e-hind. Thus Ghori emerged victorious following Khwaja's advice.
