  • WWII Germany Vs WWII U.S.A.

What If Germany attacks USA after the Austrian annexion.
In this shenario the battle is only between Germany and USA, the countries have the military power of the second world war, no interference from other countries are allowed.

The question is: Who will win ?

A difficult alternate history scenario. In the late 1930s our army was tiny and ill-equipped, mostly because we were protected by two big oceans and a helluva large navy. If Germany could somehow mount a viable land or naval threat we'd have built up an army sooner. Without it, things go pretty much as they did - we wait until the Euros are down on the ground begging for help, build an army and air force, and go pummel the crap out of the Nazis.

But Hitler threatening the continental U.S.? Impossible.

hımmm i heard Nazis won "every equal battle" ...which means huge air superiority or naval forces did not affected the battle...is it true?

Well, we seem to be moving up yet another notch on the bizzaro scale of hypothetical alternatives. Immediately following the annexation of Austria, Germany still had a relatively small army due to the fact that at that point they had only relatively recently 'openly' repudiated the Versailles restrictions. As mentioned above, the US had more or less voluntarily 'disarmed'. So where / how would this hypothetical conflict take place, seeing as neither really had the capacity to 'get at' the other?

German naval might would simply never reach America, they're a land power, and it was a large weakness, so German hopes to do it just after the Anschluss (without the time, which would need to be considerable) would be near-impossible.

The US would (on land) have been crushed by Germany in 1939, with new tactics and weapons that worked so well on Europe, but for it's difficulties getting there.

WW2 created America as a superpower, without the massive build-up that they were provoked in to doing (I'm assuming you mean just after the Anschluss) they would have been left fairly vulnerable.

But overall no way could Germany have won in the long-term, NA is waaaaayyy to big for any opponent to hold a grip on, or occupy.

At least that's my opinion from watching Battlefield .

But Austria was annexed in early '38, and given the rapid expansion of the Wehrmacht there was a huge difference between early '38 and '39 in terms of their size and equipment.

Nope. Nazis got their butts kicked when the odds were even too. Remember, they lost.

As a certain tennis player (John McEnroe) once famously said "You canNOT be serious". I think a troll has come among us and I shall not dignify his fatuous question with any kind of answer.

This type of supposition exist only in a forum. In the real world there is no such thing as an equal battle. Militaries never fight fair. The point in war is to win.

Germany will lose because they can't outproduce the US.
