Gorby-Shmorby saved nothing. He crushed what can be easily repaired with his perestroika-crap-reforms. He could use НЭП-experience – but no. He brought our people to hunger and misery.

You'd be much better off being my comrade than my enemy.

      Wow.

Explain to me then comrade why the bread lines existed for 40 years before Comrade Chairman Gorbachev took the reigns of power in the Rodina???

Denial is a terrible thing...though it is very useful in a potential enemy.

Based on your tone and longing for the days of the ill-fated evil empire, i'd say it's pretty fair to say you still qualify as a potential enemy.

In quite different future – of course. But not now, unfortunately

40 years?! Wow!!! You now, right now I called my grandfather and asked, does he remember any breadlines in 1960-1975. He said “no”. And because my grandpa is steel good friend with his brain and sanity, and not real fan of Politburo, I can trust him. True breadlines appeared in times of a late Almost-zombie-Breznev reign and in Gorbachev times of Perestroika. And that is not a crap. But, for example. In USSR it was quite hard if not impossible to get bananas or pineapple.

        Oh, potential enemy! Potential \impotential…
The problem with any potential enemy that sooner or later he is no more potential. O potential too much...

        • As to the size of the USN at the end of WWII, i was unable to find an order of battle table for 1945, but the USN consisted of a force of literally THOUSANDS of warships, and hundreds of fleet submarines. Hopefully someone else can provide a USN Fleet TO&E for 1945.

After VJ day, the entire weight of the USN could've been exerted against the Soviets if neccesary.

On top of that, the USAAF was at least as big.

The sheer numbers are bewildering, quite frankly.

                          • Just looking at the stats for the USN in 45 again, the carrier total seems a bit low.

I thought we had a lot more jeep carriers than that.

                            Hmmm.
