Canada's supreme court has ruled that swingers' clubs are legal.

In a move sure to increase tourism,

Canada's supreme court has ruled that swingers' clubs are legal.

OTTAWA - Group sex among consenting adults is neither prostitution nor a threat to society, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled on Wednesday as it lifted a ban on so-called "swingers" clubs.

In a ruling that radically changes the way courts determine what poses a threat to the population, the top court threw out the conviction of a Montreal man who ran a club where members could have group sex in a private room behind locked doors.

"Consensual conduct behind code-locked doors can hardly be supposed to jeopardize a society as vigorous and tolerant as Canadian society," said the opinion of the seven-to-two majority, written by Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin.

    Welcome to the next century!

Who cares, really? If a group of adults want to "get together" they are going to do it even if that means they are meeting underground at someones home. Might as well have them in a club and charge them sales tax on the alcohol they consume.

Lord Delvin, where are you when we need you!

Consenting adults? Gotta draw the line somewhere. Otherwise you get

A friend of mine and his wife started swinging and there were consequences.

Their Cannanite ways cost them a few friends, got them trying to work all day and swing all night with their business suffering accordingly, their kids are not getting the attention they need and exhibiting lax discipline and bad behavoir, etc.

Dude dyed his hair and got a piercing thinking it would be hip with the club members but his clients thought otherwise.

I had a little fun when my hair was lighter and my heart was darker to be sure, but I can say from personal observation that couples, especially couples with children, appear to be better off following the traditional customs of the Ages.

I don't know that I would blame the "act of swinging" for this...sounds more like a sex obsession or addiction.

    Indeed.

Not to bust on your friend, but I know a few...well ok, several couples that are swingers and they don't do any of that. In fact, they'd probably look upon your friends with a mixture of pity and confusion. They'd also wonder why nobody took them under their wing and explained the "lifestyle" to them.

Sounds like a sensible ruling to me. If consenting adults wanna get jiggy with each other then let them.

I, for one, would have a helluva lot of explaining to do if my kids found out I partook in such a thing.

The idea is, keep your kids from finding out in the first place

    Yes, disturbingly so.

No good...they have gotten as good as me (if not better) to finding out information. If I get out of pocket for longer than an hour, they can track me down like a blood hound.

Yeah, that can definitely be a problem if they're onto you like a cop watching a hood sneak out the back door holding a stereo...

That's funny! Keep a kid from finding something out.

    ROFL

You really want to torture terrorists to get information from them, forget that wishy-washy-water torture (from another thread) send in the kids. They'd be confessing within minutes just to get some peace and quiet.
