funny town slogans

I want to see some funny town slogans, and if you know them tell the story as well(try to keep it breef) and to be a good sport i'm using my own towns slogan

[IMG]C:\Documents and Settings\pictures\newyork[1][/IMG]

here's the story

The "New York Is Big But This Is Biggar" slogan came about in 1909 according to local legend. A survey crew had a bit too much to drink one night and wrote the phrase on a sign as a prank. As it turned out, the townspeople liked the phrase and adopted it. The sign and the slogan remain as two of the most recognizable symbols of Biggar, famous the world around.
This is a direct quote from
www.townofbiggar.ca
I’ve heard people from New York that were passing by made sure their route came through town just to take a picture of the sign.

This will work if the picture is saved on your hard drive.
When you are typing your post, there are several more options under the "Submit Reply" button. Just look down until you find "Additional Options".
Underneathe that a little ways is a button labeled "Manage Attachments".
Click on that, then click on "Browse", find the file in your computer, hit the "Upload" button and you're in business.

Interesting, the Saddam Hussein story.

Here it is from wikipedia -

Quote:
Saddam Hussein is the name of a village in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. It is named after Saddam Hussein, the president of Iraq. President Saddam Hussein became involved after floods hit the area in 1978 and the local authorities approached the Iraqi embassy for help. The former president was said to have readily obliged and sponsored construction of the entire village with some 100 houses, including a school and a mosque.

After the capture of the Iraqi president, the villagers of Saddam Hussein Village were critical of the US policy in Iraq. Among the comments recorded by the BBC were:

* that the arrest was 'unacceptable'.
* that it was one more example of US high-handedness and dictatorship.
* that the US was evading the issue of the missing weapons of mass destruction.
* that they were receiving a number of reports about the murder of innocent people and harassment of women in Iraq.

Saddam Hussein was extremely popular in Sri Lanka. This is was not only because of the aid received, but also because of the role played by Iraq in the pre-1990 period in keeping tea prices high - Iraq was the largest purchaser of Sri Lankan tea. Since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, Hussein has been elevated to the status of a hero in Sri Lanka, particularly after his capture. More than 20 Sri Lankan lawyers, planned to defend the former Iraqi President at his trial, wherever that may be held. Lawyer N Sri Kantha said that it was 'a fight for justice and against big power hegemonism in a uni-polar world' adding 'We would not have minded if Saddam was replaced by the Iraqi people themselves in an election. But we cannot accept an outside power invading the country, overthrowing its leader and then saying that he will be sentenced to death, even before a trial'.

Oh, forget it, here's the link - there are too many I cannot, per my own good mind, copy and paste.
