Question: How much does sliced, roast Turkey cost you where you live?

I'm trying to determine whether or not the market for Sliced Roast Turkey is being unfairly Distorted here in South Australia.

Australia has quite a powerful Consumer commission, who have responded well to my previous complaints and helped me out.

Seeing as since Ben is the only one to reply in relevance (because we know where he is), I've decided to try and get as many members as possible interested in this little, but hopefully useful cause.

    I need the following.
Where you live, and how much sliced, roast Turkey is at the supermarket/grocery store.
Not the packaged stuff Not the marinated stuff, just the plain roast stuff you buy over the counter that is sliced (chilled).

Most of the civilised world works in metric, instead of imperial, so price per KG is important. But if your too slack, post it in lb's and I'll convert.
Price we'll do according to U.S.D
    For Instance.

    Chunder
    Metropolitan South Australia -
    $27.00 US a Kg.

    Ben
    Metropolitan Israel
    $21.60 US a Kg

    Dok,
    where are you from?
    $6-9 A Kilo.

I am trying to keep this factual rather than guesstimate. Trying to use the boards membership to drag in data that would otherwise be impossible to figure out whether things are relative or we are being ripped, and let the Competition & Consumer Commission do the rest. I have a feeling that since the title isn't jucy enough to garner interest, response will be poor, but I feel this is important enough to bully as many as possible into doing!

    Chunder,

I told you we have Turkeys during X-Mas/NY period. To be factual, you'd need to wait 4-5 months

Smoked is $6.99 a pound, oven roasted is $5.99.

Whole frozen is about 29 cents a pound around the holidays.

Don't get sliced roast nothing here in Bangalore.

In Dec or so the guy tells me, it works out to $4.50/kg and the birds are anywhere from 4-10kg

You get it, you roast it and then you can slice it if you want

December is the only time here when you can get full-sized (6+ kg) complete birds.
