i,m surprised she was not charged with disorderly conduct as well,
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!" B. Franklin
I am probably in the minority on this one but as I read the story and the various comments posted I found myself wondering how we as a society come to a point where a relatively minor act of rudeness on the part of some boneheaded member of the public ends up only being able to be resolved through the use of police intervention.
Just to make myself clear on this I do admit to taking a certain guilty pleasure when I read that the ignorant a-hole who cut in line was refused service and subsequently tasered and hauled off to jail by the police.
But then I also know that most of us, myself included, have had one of those days where we have been “that a-hole” and acted without regard for our fellow citizens, co-workers, drivers, etc. and while most of us would not have allowed the situation to escalate to a point where we found ourselves tasered and hauled off to jail. I also realize none of us really knows what mountain of sh_t maybe fell on this woman that day to make her stake her claim as queen bitch for a day.
Maybe this is symptomatic of where in broader terms we find ourselves as a nation. When we are consistently bombarded with partisan messages from both the far left and far right, where our elected officials refuse to find common ground with the opposing party whilst clinging to their own narrow ideological positions; and where we are told continually to view with suspicion and distrust those who do not share our own national and world view.
Or maybe I’m getting too philosophical about this and should just go with the flow and say “Officer could you please just light the bitch up one more time before you haul her ass off to jail”![]()
