Would You Drink Alcohol at Starbucks?: Poll

Stupid question -- I would drink alcohol from anywhere

Would You Drink Alcohol at Starbucks?: Poll
By Alexandra Zendrian 01/24/12 - 11:47 AM EST

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Starbucks(SBUX) plans to offer alcoholic beverages at about a dozen more locations by the end of this year.
    More on SBUX

The coffee retailer is adding beer and wine to the menus of a handful of locations in Atlanta, Southern California and near Chicago. Five stores in the Seattle area as well as one in Portland already sell alcohol.

"We're pleased with the response of our customers to the introduction of wine, beer and premium food at several of our stores in the Pacific Northwest, and we're excited to see how the idea translates to other markets," Starbucks senior vice president of U.S. operations Clarice Turner said.

If Starbucks offered beer and wine at a location near you, would you have a drink there? Tell us in the poll below.

Will they serve the wine in the same cardboard cups as the coffee? Then no.

i wonder how they market this. boggles the mind. i was looking at buying SBUX but with these relevations, perhaps not (although admittedly it has been doing well lately).
The human mind cannot grasp the causes of phenomena in the aggregate. But the need to find these causes is inherent in man’s soul. And the human intellect, without investigating the multiplicity and complexity of the conditions of phenomena, any one of which taken separately may seem to be the cause, snatches at the first, the most intelligible approximation to a cause, and says: “This is the cause!"

Why? I can definitely see the Macbook carrying hipster crows enjoying a glass of wine or artisan beer as they agonize over their next novels.

The question is, would you drink coffee in a beer hall? Yeah, I would.

Wouldn't be possible for me since I don't patronize Starbucks in any manner given all the much better outlets in the Bay Area...

I wouldn't drink coffee from a Starbucks, so I can't see myself drinking alcohol there. Probably the only tourist to visit the first ever Starbucks in Seattle and NOT buy a coffee.

Nor should you. Best to save your money and buy two Tetley's at the Roanoke.

Don't drink coffee, so the only real reason I'd have to enter a Starbucks is for the Wifi or if it's raining
