Yes.. it´s been years ago... I drifted away from SP due to certain issues that I had with the way the forum was moderated as more time passed, less different views they tolerated and got bored with that islamophobic neocon crap. I then drifted to a forum where majority of the people were of non-Western origin and that took my attention til this day, but now I got the time and energy for other stuff too. It is really good to find that there are plenty of old-SP folks esp. when they represent the best and the brightest, gotta try to pretend to be one of those:D

A fairytale is an attempt by parents and grandparents to give a positive non-threatening and imaginary spin to what lurks just outside the window and goes bump at night.

There is enough out there which cannot be explained by the breadth and width of current scientific knowledge.

But that does not mean its imaginary.

Its just safer to believe its so. Or so most would have us believe.

I believe black magic is very real.

Then perhaps you might explain to us why someone presumably charged with expelling evil spirits is worried about yoga. It doesn't make sense to any of us. Maybe it does to you.

The moderation there was shocking. I have wandered in from time to time & noticed that only a handful of people even post there now & they seem to resent anyone who disagrees with them. it isn't so much a discussion forum as a place for a handful of people with extreme views to broadcast those ideas to a tiny audience. Not a place to discuss or learn. WAB is a place where both are possible (if not present 100% of the time

I wasn't talking about this particular case. Just responding to mustavaris' point on exorcism and the 21st century.

Either way, there is not much love lost between the Vatican and Hinduism from quite some way back apparently, so it does not surprise me.
