Can you tell me why you need a camo notebook?
    (Right of the boots)

Nestle water? Don't you have a better choice?

its not a camo notebook but a binder with pockets, the national guard was giving them away on campus and they zip up so it can hold doscuments, certiifcations and release forms.

Bottled water is bottled water, buy cheap. The goal is a enough calories and fluids to do 3 days hard work without needing anything from anyone. In Joplin food and water wasn't a problerm, during Katrina it was. Plus if my town gets hit, I won't be a drain as I can fend for myself and my neighbors.

A lot of the other army gear is either stuff I still had, or bought surplus as its a cheap way to go and its perfectly good kit. The coveralls are not NPFS 1951 rated, but then again I am a volunteer not a proffesional. My helmet is CE rated to EN 12492 standards which makes it NPFS 1951 compliant.

    Nice kit.

About the only things I would add is more Super Glue and tampons and unlubricated condoms.

Tampons make great gauzes in a pinch and you can use them as ear/nose plugs should the need arise and there are unlimited uses for condoms.

Although some people might look at you funny if they see it in your kit.

    Handy. Guess it is waterproof.

I see your point, no time to worry about the ingredients when no other water around.

    Nice kit you got there.

Copy/pasted the list as I don't have 1/2 the things around. You never know

BTW I think you should be called PackMan, Anything else in that Nissan? Fire extinguisher comes to my mind.

Fire extinquisher, floor jack, tool kit, travel first aid kit, jumper cables, emergency triangles, GPS, cell chargers, inverter umbrella and camcorder are always in the car.

As for half the stuff around only a few of the items are specialized like the helmet. The rest is stuff everyone should have.

Yellow, thanks for reminding me about condoms... duh...

Great kit Jason. I'd agree on the un-lubed condoms and also add pantyhose for compressing sterile pads against wounds, also great thermal properties if worn.

Not to mention they're of great use when shining boots. Unlubed condoms are excellent for keeping debris and moisture out of one's rifle barrel too. Concur on you needing them both.

I'd also suggest can openers... not one, but two since they're prone to getting lost. Drill a hole in the handle of one and permanently tie it to your pack. If the first gets lost or lent, you bloody well won't lose the 2nd one. I'd also add in a few more rolls of toilet paper. The stuff is like gold during a disaster. Your butt will thank you. I see a Generator and two-cycle motor oil. I'm assuming you have a good 5 gallon fuel container stashed somewhere?

The CDC tries once more to raise awarness about the importance of an emergency kit by releasing the following:

    Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic
    uh I might be wrong
