    New Year's Resolutions

OK, some of you are men enough to make them and actually keep them. Me, I'm so weak-willed that it never takes me over 24 hours to break 'em.

But let's hear them, people...maybe this way we can support each other..or laugh our asses off when we confess to breaking them. :))

    Mine are:

    1) Quit Smoking....I never made this resolution before but when you feel like you're coughing up a smurf every morning..it's time to stop.

    2) To travel more.....don't really care for Eastern Europe but realized it's one of the few places that I haven't travelled extensively....might give it a try.

    3) To lose about 15 pounds. Never actually cared about my weight before but when the missus starts tickling and jiggling your "love handles" while giggling, it just destroys the image of a stud you've created for yourself.

    4) To better understand the fairer sex because you know that deep down, they too, have feelings and yes, it is OK to hold their purses while they go shoppping for hours while dragging you by the nose.

    5) To not make fun of tankie anymore.

OK numbers 4 and 5, I won't keep nor do I want to ...but it sounded compassionate. :)

So let me hear yours and laugh my guts out.

Well even though you only addressed the "men" I'll be the first woman to tell my resolutions!

    1. Quit smoking! I say I'm going to do it every year and don't but maybe this year will be the one. Even on the great American Smoke-out we joke at work saying we are smoking-out! Outside! lol

    2. Lose more weight. I've lost 15 so far. Won't say how much more I want to lose though. Went to Ashley's boyfriend's house for dinner last night and she, Kyle (the BF) and his parents and I played Wii Fit. A lot of fun, especially laughing at each other doing their "moves". Definitely feel it today. I'm buying a Wii Fit!

    3. And just to be the happiest I can be. The divorce is final and it went a lot smoother than I anticipated. So I want both myself and my ex to be happy and find our "true" meaning of happiness!

I don't know how you two make such commitments so early in the morning, but I'll give it a go!

    1. Quit smoking! I started smoking 16 years ago cuz my ex did, now that I'm rid of him, I should seriously consider getting rid of that horrible habit as well. I've already noticed I don't smoke half as much since the divorce, and that's without even trying not to. Less nervousness and agitation I guess.

    2. Lose weight. I'm, up to 145 since my daughter took a leave from softball. I'd like to lose 20-25 pds. by getting more exercise and stop sitting at this dang computer. :))

    3. My divorce is also final which has already given me happiness, now I need to organize my life, the way I want it...would make me even happier.

    4. Travel. Never been out of the USA, but first I need to take advice from a friend, and take baby steps first across the states, to first get over the culture shock from living in the bible belt all my life.

    5. Stop living such a sheltered life, if that is possible.

Well, that's all, for now....I may add to it later. :))

I made my new years resolutions in October, so I have better chance of realising them :)

But I convinced myself I would get my 103.5 KG's down to 100KG''s by Christmas, I weighed myself chrissie eve and had that down to 96 KG's. I am convinced that I can make 92 KG's but probably will be mostly skin and bone by then.

So my New years resolution is to continue eating healthy and working like a dog. Avoid being mean to patrons, whilst getting my formal qualifications & recognition for my other Job. Whilst bringing myself to contemplate my future with the third job - not sure about it's future prospects at the moment!

Finishing my Chook pen is high on the agenda.

I Hope to pay a significant amount off the mortgage.
on the WAB front, I hope to link a lot more to my thought process in when responding to topics and build my permalink data that Tarek helped me out with in the introduction thread.

Generally the aim is to take good care of myself not stress a whole heap, enjoy life & not give people this shites.

Edit: as an Idea, maybe perhaps us 'loose weight folk' can start a thread and give each other our tips that we find helpful / recipes we use that shed the kilos/pounds?

Hey tankie try the Knaur diet, cut down on the food and stick to beverages :P

Alcohol for breakfast, lunch, dinner , rettes all around and the occassional snack here and there, I once unintentionally got my weight down to less than 58 kg on that diet in college in a few months before sanity prevailed

My resolutions are: To allow my wife to by me a new motorbike and to submit to her demands to spend more money on me. To take more holidays abroad with my beloved and maybe next time take the wife. Not to be badgered into drinking less but to just go with the flow. Only to dine out once a week and allow the rest to be brought in. That's all the hardships for next year I can think of. There may be more, so once the wife brings me a dry martini I may be forced to reveal more...I hope she doesn't forget the olive:))

As always, I hereby resolve to do very little that I disapprove of, & nearly everything (given time & inclination) that I do approve of. I think that I come closer to observation than most. Here's to The end of the Naughty Aughties. F*uckem.
