Computer Help Please!

I am getting very frustrated with my computer. Yes it's old and it's a dell but I don't think that has anything to do with the "problem"! It happened once before where I couldn't see any videos posted so I downloaded Firefox and it started working fine again. Well, I have recently updated Firefox and still can't get videos to show. I get the little "icon" that says AOL pop-up is not letting me view videos so I tried to fix it.

It's just really frustrating!!!!!!!!!

Can't see the video as in like a streaming video posted on youtube type sites?

If so, that has nothing to do with your browser but everything to do with the codec (coder/decoder) plug-in for your browser.

Use this:

CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack

I know it has a very commie name, but it works. It's a combined codec pack for just about any and all video format out there. Download it. Execute it. Watch any video you want.

I didn't start having problems with my computer until you accepted my friendship request. Then porn started popping up all over the place! Of course I deleted it...nothing interesting to see!

Fixed it! Don't know if the download helped, but I went to AOL pop ups - animated media, and deleted all of the files listed. And it worked! Doh - definitely a face palm moment!

Ooh. I've been trying to figure out why my ancient laptop messes up most videos on the web. Maybe that would help.

After installation of this codec check your internet traffic for some time.
If you see an unusual activity, maybe your computer became a zombee.
I heard about some problems with the software.

Agreed! We had a clown on campus whose server was a mule for over 6 months before we discovered it. Neddless to say, he is off the wire!!

Southie did you ever try running a repair of the Operating system? you could have squirley registry settings that don't belong there. AOL is evil..

I have 3 different versions of CCCP and none have had any problems. I know people who are way more h4x0r savvy and they actually recommended this codec pack to me. If anything was wrong, they would know.
