Sheesh, could you imagin a taproom with a load of us in there carrying on about such subjects.) Then again we'll just blame it on the booze.) Oh and the French.):P

Reminds me of when I was in Ireland a few years back visiting a friend that was RAF for a few weeks. Well, needless to say we were in the local pub getting loaded and made friends with two Germans and one French guy. You can imagine what became of that conversation about the seventh round. Needless to say the French lost again.) We still keep in touch via the web. Great days.

I'm actually inclined to agree on both points Oscar.

Though was a long time ago, my experience of Germans was that they were friendly, cheerful & not at all offended by our lack of German. Of course, they all spoke flawless english (and this was 30 years ago). They were even polite when we woke up to discover that our camper van was in the middle of a military exercise (probably for the best we weren't French - they might have become nostalgic & tried to occupy us). I suspect that as long as they aren't invading anyone they are actually quite reasonable.

Sadly France is one of only two countries I have visited (out of 25 in total) where I couldn't leave fast enough - the other was Italy. In France (to be fair it was mostly Paris) we found peope rude, often aggressive when they found out we were foreigners and just plain unreasonable. My mother was accused of shoplifting (the only time in her 65+ years she has been accused of a crime) and we had a car accident where someone pulled out onto the dirt verge of the road, overtook us, pulled in front & then stopped dead. When we hit her (causing a slight dent) she insisted we follow here home where she & her husband called the police. Even they couldn't believe her behaviour & told her to call her insurance company. Believe it or not, Italy was worse.

I'm hoping that my experience of both countries was atypical, but neither are high on my list to re-visit.

    Yeah whatever.

As if anybody is going to mistake a 25 year old woman for a child simply for lack of pubic hair.

About the British tourists, it is interesting that while they are regarded worldwide as second best to the Japanese, they are regarded in Europe as the worst.

Britons voted Europe's worst behaved tourists

I think this is because the Brits do not really like the continuent Europeans, and vice versa. I've been told sometimes the Brits wish the British Isles can be pulled across the Atlantic to N America.

Sadly Merlin i must agree , the Brit abroad is not a good advertisement for the U/K this is not everyone of course , and the football hooligan arseholes do not endear themselves as well , morons .whenever i used to travel i would always make the effort to be polite and try to converse in the countries language and customs , unlike others i have seen .

Never said I like them youngish. That was a reply to Oscar's rather ignorant claim of shaved female gentalia somehow implies pedophilia.

Personally I prefer older women as well. And shaved, for the record.
