Brokensickle Your incompetent quoting makes it difficult to read your posts so if I've made a big mistake, I apologise. But the text posted seems par the course for your heights of Christian love and tolerance which we discussed a while back.

I don't always end up with the result that I seek with the quotation tools and my vocabulary and spelling isn't perfect either. I just hope I am getting my point across well enough to communicate my thoughts to other posters. My apologies. Christians are not the only people that do not tolerate immorality. Ask around and you will find cultures through out the world see immorality as dangerous to civilization.
Examples? Countries, concentrated in the West and a few other places which have strong gay rights laws - which I presume you mean to 'champion homosexuality' - are generally richer, live longer, wield more political, cultural, military and economic worldwide power, so on, so forth. One of the few exceptions I can think of is Singapore, which illegalises homosexuality - in addition to anal and oral sex, not to mention littering and undesirable music and literature, a theme well covered in the relevant thread on WAB.

I believe it to be a barometer of affluent societies need to reevaluated their priorities before they fall into limitless immorality and cultural destruction.
Why is what consenting adults do in their own time your business?

It's what they are doing on my time that is concerning to me.
Do you want to pry into their affairs? I'd say you're the pervert there. Or perhaps it's God's wish. After all, it's understandable that the creator of all the vast universe is very much interested where a particular person's genitals are up to.

I don't have to pry. The homosexual agenda is in our face. It is prying at our rights to not see its display. It disregards at my rights to raise my children as I see fit by teaching its boundless immorality in the public schools. It's asserting its agenda to have more rights to indoctrinate my children than I have to teach them a moral code of right and wrong. Its agenda seeks to trump through the legal system my right to not accept its life style. Are there any limits to what ones genitals are up to?
They also don't champion free speech or not 'disappearing' journalists. Should we follow their model?

The question I have is, is there no limit to free speech? Is there any thing that is better off unsaid? Is there such a thing as self control? Does self control of ones speech have any merit. Is there any limits to what we consider sexual behavior? How far do we go in the expression of ones self before we have trampled anything resembling sanity and decency? What is decent and modest and proper? What are the limits of immorality?
Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union didn't champion sodomy, either, should we pick up tips of civilization from them as well?

Nazi Germany had its 'Brown Shirts'. I'm not sure about Russia.
What protecting it as an individual, private right?

What they do in the privacy of their own homes is not my concern. It's what they do in the schools to teach it as an acceptable behavior that I take exception to. And trying to foist perversion on us in the name of, same sex marriage.
Pray tell what is your amazing experience of the condition of our countries and why they, presumably as a result of our 'championing' of homosexuality, are so worse than America?

The UK in my opinion is falling apart because of its general immorality and more its tolerance to it in the public arena. This leaves a void of morals which has a destructive force upon the family and pro-creation. And not just the immorality of homosexual behavior but also the immorality of heterosexuals and the immorality of disdain for human life.
I like the more comprehensive social safety net here with regards to healthcare but I don't like the extreme gun control. I like the dynamic confidence of so many Americans in their daily lives, but I dislike the high-fructose corn syrup Coke and deeply weird political process among other things. What I can't fathom is what homosexuality has done to influence the broad picture of what it's like to live in either of these places.
I shy away from the corn syrup and corn oil. Homosexuality is boring and crude. It is over rated, over stated, selfish and quirky. It should be ignored and shunned, disreputed and not mentioned in schools as acceptable. It is dirty and expresses a lack of knowledge as to the proper use of the male and female organs, DUH...I think everybody knows that it is not right. But people are driven to it by a lack of self control and because of this find it easy to make excuses for its justification.

I should feel sympathy for brokensickle and his sick, bigoted worldview. Instead I'll just give him a helpline number.

Oh dear. Dear WAB, I apologise for this slapdash post which falls below accepted standards. Unfortunately there is very little to debate here since he states his personal beliefs as facts without supporting evidence - the fundamental question being what's wrong with homosexuality.

Brokensickle, I suggest you skip this post and read the emboldened part at the bottom.

My heterosexual views are disliked by homosexuals,
I'm not homosexu- Oh hahahahahahaha you're so clever, I see what you did there. Anybody who attacks homophobic BS must be homosexual themselves. The concepts of 'ethics', or 'principle', or 'calling someone out on some serious crap' as motivators for your critics are evidently alien to you.

so I will assume they are bigoted too.
A bigot is someone who hates and wishes to restrict someone else's rights for no good reason. No-one is restricting your rights you imbecile, only calling you out. Do the world a big favour and stop whining.

And perhaps Astralis privately agrees with what I said in this regards...Then again maybe not.
Why would anyone with an IQ of over 50 agree with your nonsense, privately or otherwise?

[quoteI don't always end up with the result that I seek with the quotation tools and my vocabulary and spelling isn't perfect either. I just hope I am getting my point across well enough to communicate my thoughts to other posters.[/quote]

Just barely. It's basic forum etiquette to have readable posts but then again I think we're way past such niceties.

My apologies. Christians are not the only people that do not tolerate immorality. Ask around and you will find cultures through out the world see immorality as dangerous to civilization.
Yeah, and a cursory analysis of the world proves them wrong. Civilisations don't fall because of homosexuality, and in today's world the stronger ones protect it.

And do you not understand that calling it immorality without any semblance of rational argument is fundamentally and repulsively intolerant, or do you need it in a picture book?

I believe it to be a barometer of affluent societies need to reevaluated their priorities before they fall into limitless immorality and cultural destruction.
So when is it going to happen? Western societies started the gay rights business in the '60s and since then we've enjoyed the world's highest standard of living as well as victory in the Cold War.

I don't have to pry. The homosexual agenda is in our face. It is prying at our rights to not see its display. It disregards at my rights to raise my children as I see fit by teaching its boundless immorality in the public schools.
Why is homosexuality immoral again? You haven't mentioned it. Stating a claim is not the same as proving a claim.

It's asserting its agenda to have more rights to indoctrinate my children
What, that gays are human beings too?

Considering continuing homophobia, wouldn't you say it's necessary to teach children that gays, like blacks, women, emos, cyclists, and people who are inoffensive but different or less powerful are human beings too?

The question I have is, is there no limit to free speech? Is there any thing that is better off unsaid? Is there such a thing as self control? Does self control of ones speech have any merit. Is there any limits to what we consider sexual behavior?
Again I ask you you little pervert, what business is it of yours what consenting adults do behind closed doors, and even if it is, what's wrong with homosexuality apart from your later BS of 'proper use of organs'? Who the f- are you to tell people what to do with their organs?

that How far do we go in the expression of ones self before we have trampled anything resembling sanity and decency? What is decent and modest and proper? What are the limits of immorality?
Oppressing other people and lecturing them on their sexual orientation, for a start.

What they do in the privacy of their own homes is not my concern. It's what they do in the schools to teach it as an acceptable behavior that I take exception to. And trying to foist perversion on us in the name of, same sex marriage.
    Why is it perverted?

The UK in my opinion is falling apart
    It is?

Oh sh-, someone get me scaffolding for my house! It's falling apart!!!

    because of its general immorality
What the hell can I say when someone who doesn't demonstrate any knowledge or understanding of my society whatsoever, condemns it?

Homosexuality is boring and rude. It is over rated, over stated, selfish and quirky.
    'Quirky'?

Ignoring the rest of your post - which is one of the funniest I've read on WAB in a long time - you using the word 'quirky' as a negative really sums it up for me at least.

Can you just save everyone and yourself a lot of bother by outright stating "anyone who doesn't toe my arbitrary BS definition of normality is immoral"?

I want you to explain why you find it boring, over rated and selfish - it sounds like you know far more then a Christian should about it.

Hahaha - I'm sure he has a suspiciously large folder on his hard drive marked "ultra-boring legal stuff that no-one except me could possibly be interested in", which expands by several gigabytes every night.

I would not know how homosexuality is taken abroad.

We prefer that they remain in the closet.

However, we had a huge Gay Pride Parade of the Gay Day and it is a huge talking point on the Indian TV.

Now, does it make Indians homosexuals?

I hope that is not 'racist', since this is also a term that is not well understood in India.

I presume we don't understand since we did not practise it, not being colonial power that subjugated others for the colonial's own good!

Ray, was that a genuine reason for not practising homosexuality or was it a pointless and irrelevant jab at the British (of 60 years ago)?

Personally, I don't think that homosexuality is a sole preserve of any community, culture or of an religious affliction.

Religion to my mind is nothing but a set of rules to bring social order as we have the Criminal and Civil codes of today. The hocus pocus was added to give a fairy tale take so that it was appealing as were the ballads and folklore of yore!

What has the British got to do with homosexuality, even though it is acclaimed to be a roaring pastime in British public schools or so we learn!

Well I agree with you on the first two paragraphs. If you are being facetious about the third, then hahaha, your humour concerning British life is incisive and hilarious, worthy of a comedy Oscar, sir. If not facetious, then please bring your comedic vocabulary forward about 60 years. (Which, incidentally, is also the thing to do with your views concerning mentioning colonialism left, right and centre.)

A major negative comparison of my country, the USA is the failed educational system. Several years ago testing of 12 grade students in Math and Science was conducted in the 18 major industrial nations. In both Math and Science scores American kids finished 18th. That was shameful. A year or so ago they did more testing and found out that we had dropped to 25th. Twenty-four other countries have better educated kids than ours. How can we remain a world leader in research, medicine, earth sciences, Particle Physics, and Biology with that scary result?

At least half of Americans believe that the world is 6000 years old, unchanged (deny or never heard of plate tectonics or continental drift), can not locate Canada on a globe, and deny the overwhelming proof of evolution (natural or guided).

I think the USA has become an intellectual Third World Country. All progress and success is the work of a minority of less than 5%. The rest are still stuck in the Middle Ages.

I can - and I've been known at some point to criticise various aspects of my beloved Britain, past, present and future. You mega-fail on that point, search the forums if you like.

What is silly is dredging up this stuff to explain contemporary phenomena. See below.

After all, we criticize the nazy germany, the imperial Japanese. Why can't we criticize the colonial British?
In the most tenuous and snipey of logical connections to the Indian status of homosexuality today? Are you being facetious?
