    World's Best Cheddar Cheese?

I used to think Cabot extra sharp was the be-all of cheese, but they are now saying that Grafton sharp far surpasses the mass-produced Cabot. Nevertheless, I still firmly stand behind Vermont cheese-makers.

    Any opinions?

The Americans have bought the English town of Cheddar and transported it to Vermont? If they haven't they can't legally call it Cheddar cheese, only Cheddar style cheese. Bloody Colonials

Wisconsin- America's Dairyland. Cheeseheads rule. Myself, I like a very smooth blue cheese. Not much though, just a few small slivers. Cheese is best consumed lightly.

Unless of course you've just come home from an all-nighter at your favorite pub.

Then a couple of grilled-cheese sandwiches are a must!

The human mind cannot grasp the causes of phenomena in the aggregate. But the need to find these causes is inherent in man’s soul. And the human intellect, without investigating the multiplicity and complexity of the conditions of phenomena, any one of which taken separately may seem to be the cause, snatches at the first, the most intelligible approximation to a cause, and says: “This is the cause!"

I have an opinion that Applewood smoked cheddar is the best cheese ever, it goes down remarkably well at a picnic what what.

    Thin slice applewood smoked cheddar,
    Applewood smoked ham 1 slice,
put above in a Hot Croissant and go to heaven.

I'm a fan of Cabot, although I love New York extra sharp as well. Haven't seen that in years, though. Dang, now I want some good cheese.

Totally agree on the blue cheese! I also like Feta. Although I do like just about every kind of cheese. Right now I'm favoring Gouda.
