I do.

40 a day and I don't want to be Winston Churchill either or hang on to dear life!

Does it matter?

Would not smoke where not permitted, but sure would like areas segregated where one can!

Live and Let live!

God Bless who are worried about smoking, but can do damn all about the pollution which is what really affects health!

And damned fad and something to be fashionable and chic!

If it is a fact that the exploding world population and t that it will not be able to sustain the world population is true, it is damned good that people smoke (that too if it is the only cause that really kills)!!

It would mean less social security and less pensions to be doled out!

You, young tykes, would win till you are old and then whimper!

Thought about that?

The secret to giving up cigarettes is all about PMT, sorry I meant Positive Mental Attitude.
Try this:

Set a date to stop smoking, let's say June 1st 2008.

Enjoy your cigarettes without guilt until February, but in the back of your mind repeat that you will start to give up in February (29th it's a leap year).

Tell all your friends that you will give up in June, some will be supportive (good), others will say 'yeah right' (bad).

From 1st march only smoke after 12PM, this may be a bit harsh but be strong, you are already smoking less, enjoy after 12pm without guilt, tell your good friends that you are on a plan and they will help, do not tell your 'bad friends' anything of your plan because they want you to fail like they have.

From the first of April, begin to smoke after 4PM, meanwhile be strong and tell yourself that you are well over 1/2 way to quitting, smoke without guilt, but now think of how you really want to give up, tell your good friends that you are on a plan and they will help, do not tell your 'bad friends' anything of your plan because they want you to fail like they have.

From May 1st, smoke only after 4PM, and tell yourself that cigarettes are really quite bad for you. read the messages on the pack, all of them, think about the messages and why they are there. tell your good friends that you are on a plan and that they need to help you by giving you moral support, do not tell your 'bad friends' anything of your plan because they want you to fail like they have.

1st June, if you have any cigarettes left bin them, be strong. tell your friends that you have given up and thank them for their help. Enjoy the fact that you are now contributing to a healthier society, saving money and smelling better (a big one for me) and join the huge throng of ex-smokers.

This process worked on me and many members of my family and friends, the main part is not to feel guilty about smoking, OK so you smoke, it is not as if you are mugging an old lady or killing the nieghbour, so relax, take your time and most important prepare your brain for the battle and win.

Mike

I quit cigarettes about 1 1/2 years ago, then started back in August of this year as a stress reliever. I smoke maybe 8 a day. Sad part is I can go a week without smoking and it doesn't bother me! Once my stress is gone I'm going to quit again! I've heard it's harder for women to quit than men. I hang out with my daughter as much as possible because I won't smoke around her.

In the USA, Farm Subsidies are up wards of $15 BILLION. I wonder how much of our tax dollars goes to the tobacco farmers?

The gov't and states tax the product when the consumer buys it. Ought to just call it what it is, a use tax.

The state mandates where I can and can not use the product in public and private locations.

I was in Hanuma Bay, Hawaii about ten years ago and there you can not even smoke on the beach. OUTSIDE for heaven's sake!

At one of our restaurants in Indiana they passed a local ordinance that smoking was only permitted in self contained areas so as not to allow 2nd hand smoke affect anyone. We built a nice section, new benches, TV's, etc., all isolated with walls, and with a separate air conditioning/heating/filtration system. A year later, the law changed and no smoking any where indoors. Isn't that just special?

Anyone going to subsidize the changes we made to accommodate the use of a legal product that can no longer be used legally indoors in IN? I live in OH but near PA. Ohio is a no smokie state inside but PA yes. Me and my tax dollars go to PA for dinner and drinks.

Most of the ladies in Thailand do Dale ,, but that costs the recipient about 500 baht

But to tell the truth , i am an X smoker , i stopped immediately with no problems after i watched my wife of 27 years old , die of cancer whilst i was in the Army in Germany .

I hate smoking with a passion beyond compare and i hope it gets banned EVERYWHERE , sod the tobacco companies , sue the whole bastard lot of them for mass murder. Its not just the tobacco , its the 600 + addictive carcenogenic additives

I'm very sorry to hear that. Although I do wish everyone would stop smoking, I don't think that we could ever ban tobacco everywhere.

If we look at history, with the prohibition, I don't think it could work. It has been engraved into so many people's routine, that trying to ban it will not be worth the cost of enforcing it

Can't finish the post. Too Tired.
