What the hell? Gaborik scores 5 goals including a shorthander in a single game and Crosby with a Gordie Howe hattrick?

So we're getting our pics in arent we?!
I can't see Ottawa beating Detroit. If Detroit does make it past 2nd round, then they are forreal and will go on to win it most likely. But the West has to many power houses: San Jose, Anaheim, Detroit and Calgary will be very dangerous. Problem in playoffs is, the first line gets shut down hard. Zetterberg and Datsyk go missing in the playoffs. What is their career stats in playoff games played? 2 or assists if anything? maybe 2 goals each? I dont even think that much. EDITED: I stand corrected: The leafs didnt win 4-2 Last edited by Mobbme : 12-21-2007 at 07:06 AM. |

The Spezza line was on fire last year before Ducks shut them down. Ducks' Getzlaf line will get the same treatment in the playoffs now since there's really no other scoring line in Anaheim. The problem for other teams is Getzlaf line is huge. They average 6'3" 220 lb, and they are all good skaters. They will create problems for the defense since Anaheim hogged up a bunch of good defensemen. But Ducks can't score now. Selanne took his 48 goals to the retirement home. However, there's some noise about Selanne working out for something....
Oh and Ottawa still has goalie problems. Which one would you start tonight? Ducks will start Giguere. Last edited by gunnut : 12-21-2007 at 17:43 PM. |

Bah, they're still out of the playoffs at this point.....oh well I guess I can still cheer for the Canucks if the Leafs don't pick things up post Christmas...
Speaking of which, MERRY CHRISTMAS gentlemen!

For all those Canucks out there its once again time to plant our fat turkey ladden butts in front of the TV and cheer on Canada at the world Jr,s. starting at 2 pm our time here in Kingston. To most around the world this tourney means little but to Hockey nations in the top tier this places young players with tons of heart and passion in position to showcase their talent. In Canada of course, we live and die as much as the young players in this series with a passion that is sometimes nutty, but thankfully more controlled than those soccer bandits and their antics. A few more brewskies and turkey on rye sandwiches to go before the Gold medal game so to all my Canadian compatriots and those other teams............it,s game on. Cheers. Hope you all had a good Christmas.

Oh lord I was in a great mood untill I discovered Raycroft was in net tonight for the Leafs. My fears bear me out as after one period and 4 shots its Islanders 3, Torornto 2.Turkey isn,t the only thing smelling slightly foul around the rink tonight. Joy is such a fleeting thing.

Hey Gunnut, are you born Canadian? Or American 100%?
You may ask, why I ask? But its because TEAM CANADA is going to win the junior championships ONCE AGAIN!! hehehehe 2 shut outs in 2 games... I"M LOVING IT! This is my antidote from the ailing leafs. |
