At Least 5 Dead, 2 Wounded In Nightclub Shooting
Witnesses: Alleged Gunman Went Onto Stage, Fired Shots

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- At least five people died and two others were wounded after a shooting at a Columbus nightclub on Wednesday night, NBC 4 reported.

Nightclub Shooting

The shooting took place shortly after 10 p.m. at Alrosa Villa, located at 5055 Sinclair Rd.

Two members of the heavy metal band Damageplan were reportedly shot and killed, including Dimebag Darrell, formerly with the band Pantera, NBC 4's David Wayne reported. The other band member's name was not released. The alleged gunman also died at the scene, Wayne reported.

Shortly after the band began playing its first song, a man reportedly ran onto the stage and began shooting, according to a witness who identified himself as Sean. Some members of the audience reportedly thought the man running onto the stage with a gun was part of the band's act, NBC 4's Erin Tate reported.

Witnesses said that several shots were fired at the band before a bouncer tackled the gunman before he was shot and killed.

Columbus police Sgt. Brent Mall said the shooter appeared to be targeting the band members. After opening fire on the stage, the gunman turned on the crowd. At that point, an officer shot the man dead, Mall added. Police said there could have been many more fatalities had the officer not killed the gunman.

NBC 4 reported that of the surviving victims, one person was in critical condition while the other was in fair condition. Several others were treated at the scene, suffering from various injuries.

Alrosa Villa is a popular north Columbus nightspot for young adults, featuring rock and heavy metal bands, NBC 4 reported.

According to the band's Web site, Damageplan was touring nationally. It performed in Buffalo, N.Y., on Tuesday night and had a concert scheduled in Flint, Mich., on Thursday.

Damageplan featured former Pantera artists Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. The pair were joined by vocalist Patrick Lachman and bassist Bobzilla, according to their Web site.

Thank god for that cop? With him/her more would have been shot. This is insane, how can one take a gun and mow down 5 people over a band. I think our civilization will have some very serious issues in the years to come if incidents like this continue.

Just the other day, over 100 students in a nearby high school just started fighting each other for no apparent reason. Over 50 cops had to respond before order was restored.

Probably the idiot who lost it hated something about the music of the Band

Just like that nutt who shot lennon cuz he thought of him being an apostate of the Devil, and that by killin him somehow would gain him the affection of that jody Foster!

Hell even though I have been to Cloud9 and back many a time, even I have never been privyd to such euphoria!

Lotta crazy ppl out there man!

P.S. the bizzarre thing is that the cops still don't know why he killed em all!

Another incedent:

In St. Augistene, Florida, a few days ago, a women ran over 2 teenagers with her SUV. there were 3 overall. Supposedly, all three were bouncing a tenis ball in a mall parking lot when it hit her car with her in it. The teens apoligizied, and, scince there was no damage done, they walked away. Apparently the women snapped about 30 seconds after the incendent and tried to run all three over. One escaped, one has major damage, but is stable, and one has no brian activity and is in critical condition. When a off-duty nurse who was doing her christmas shoping came out (shes the reason the one with no brain activity is still alive), she said that the women was leaning against her car, smoking a cig.

And whats even more wacko is her husband insists that its not her fault, that the companies that made the SIX DRUGS that she was taking was to blame.

If shes on 6....fukin.....drugs.........WHY THE HELL IS SHE DRIVING IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Also, the husband was supposedly told not to let her drive, go to the mall, or anything like that. Basically, he was told not to let her go out alone. AND THE ******* DID.

Its for people like that that the electric chair was invented........

No. It was not a Marine.

It was just the alter ego of Lulldapull.

A most silly event like the baksetball fracas I saw on CNN.

It happens and not too much of thought should be given except that they should be locked up.

Let law take its course and also ensure that it doesn't happen again.

He may have been disgruntled, but he was in North Carolina. From what I'm hearing he was a nut job, that believed "Dimebag" stole his songs.
