We used to do that sort of tricks in India, a judicious mix of acceleration and parking brake

For decades my car had been a Honda. Last summer my old 1987 Honda accord lxi hatchback needed a third clutch which ment a $600-800 repair. The odometer said 429,000. Thoough I dearly loved the car, its bluebook value wasn't enough to warrent a big ticket repair even though the moter still ran fine. After doing some panic shopping I found a Toyota camry LE. I miss the sportier ride and the manual transmission of the Honda, but the Camry offers a plushier ride and the 37mpg highway combined with the 18 gallon tank is nice for the long road trips.
My second vehicle is a 1983 Ford Bronco. Needs a head gasket. I am saving my pennies to have the 302 replaced with a 351 so the Bronco can tow my trailer with out stressing the moter.

This year they will surpass GM, its no brainer...GM just shot itself in its upcoming market by being with SAIC, it might look good on their balancesheet for the shrt term but its a goner.

i see more and more imports suv on the road, they do make some pretty nice suv, and suv craze is helping them, i live in brooklin, it is a flat paeved city, but suv's are increasing in numbers each year drasticly, 10 years ago my parking lot by the building had few suv, mostly american, now more than half are suv, and more than half of them (if not more)imports.
i personaly think thou, there is no suv better than chevy tahoe, or suburban.

It's called doing "donuts" here. It's also a great way to learn how to go into a controlled spin. I actually avoided a wreck once by doing a "half-donut"!!

I think with the gas prices the way they are, I'm going to start driving one of our schools golf carts back and forth to work. I'll just "putt" on down the sidewalk!

The quote was in California. I was out of state and anything in California cost more. The rundown was $350 for the labor,(take the moter out and remove the clutch, resurface the flywheel and reinstall everything). $200 for parts(the clutch) and $50 to have a new oil pan gasket put on while the moter was out.(you basically have to remove the moter to change oil pan gasket) I could have put the money in the car, got T-boned getting out of the shop, and with the $500 insurance deductable, would have had nothing to show for the money. I paid $2000 for the car when it had 150,000 miles on it so I got my moneys worth out of it. Then there was the "How many more miles can I put on the moter before it gives up?" question. I just though it best to start over with something newer.
