Happy Thanksgiving to all and may we be blessed with generosity and prosperity.

Just had one of the best Turkey Days I've ever had.

My mother and stepfather drove down from Arkansas, my sister and her son (I haven't seen my nephew in TEN YEARS! ) flew in from Texas, and my lovely, hard-workin' and talented wife threw out the best table you could imagine. (And this after she worked a 12-hour night shift - no sleep before being on her feet and cookin' the entire day! Awake for 30 straight hours, and as graceful as a duchess the entire dam' day.)

I swear, we should send that grrrl to Iraq. Lt. Bluesman, USAF Nurse Corps, would have it all wrapped up and solved in about six weeks.

ANYway, it was an awesome day, and I could not be more pleased. Unless I had today off. Which I do NOT.

But the Watch Officer sends his best Thanksgiving regards to you all.

Back in the harness today. I'm the only guy in my section that has to work all three days after Thanksgiving. We need a union, man.

Don't y'all just LOVE Thanksgiving Day leftovers? I brought two big turkey sammies with me, and some of my wife's excellent sweet potato bread pudding with whiskey sauce. The last of the apple pie, too.

DAYUM - isn't it lunchtime YET!?!

The title of this thread reminded me of an instance when I talked to an American (over msn or something), knowing that I was British she proceeded to tell me to have a happy 4th of July.... lol

Used to go to church with a big group of Brits when we lived near Munich. Our station (Bad Aibling, whose Coat of Arms is the avatar you see on my posts) used to have a big Fourth of July celebration, and of course it was always GREAT fun to have 'em over for a barbecue.

Miss that place. Every dam' day. Good times.
