Okay, WOW - the dam has burst, I guess.

My old firm has won the contract on Beale on the strength of my resume (y'all knew that part), and TODAY, I found out I'm going to be offered a GS-12 job at Beale, too! Have no idea when it starts, but I'd be an Intel Section Chief, in charge of Analysis and Fusion. Cool, huh?

Now I have a decision to make: which one?

    bluesman,

enjoy that GS-12 while you can! the DoD is already starting to replace that system with NSPS- performance-based pay. apparently you gotta do pretty dam' well if you want to get a raise which was more or less automatic under the GS system...

then again, cool job counts for a hell of a lot, too. congrats again!

It WAS, wasn't it? Folks, we to' dat mofo UP, yo!

dalem and Grandmaster TopHatFlash were KEY PERSONNEL, and Stan came by, and it was so GREAT!

ANYhoo, I spoke with the Air Force HMFWIC at Beale about an hour ago, and she (aw, hell; ANOTHER female boss! ), sounds SHARP! I think this is my job.

dalem, keep casting your line, and reel in a good'un, buddy...

BOTH are at Beale. That 'centers of excellence' philosophy is a mite constricting to me. There's LOTS of intel at Beale, NONE here at Travis. Dammit.

Well, we're of to the Bluegrass State. Ft. Knox will see a high concentration of Blues-people, as my wife and I visit the Army's newest cavalry scout.

Y'all 'member waaaay back thar when I first mentioned he was thinking about joing the cavalry? Now he's actually DONE it!

    WOW!

ANYhoo, if the VOQ has wireless internet, I'll check in from there.

Can't wait to see that soldier...

Blue is that your "boy" who joined up what seems like yesterday. So he's Cavalry now ..sounds like your pleased with that choice.

Here's a little Kipling for him:

I keep six serving honest men,
(They taught me all I knew),
    Their names are What and
    Why and When
and How and Where and Who)
