Thank you for bringing this to my attention, at least there wasn't enough time for a malicious script to be executed... I have one question however....

What the hell were you thinking? Running scripts is a strictly verboten practice on forums.

I did not know, that the organization terrorfreeoil.org made malicious scripts. I thought it was a grass root organization that used ordinary methods in their cause.

Actually I'm not sure, I know precisely what a malicious script is. I am very sorry! Sorry, sorry, sorry!
Actually, we aren't accusing terrorfreeoil.com of making malicious scripts.

The script you included was a totally safe one. However, the very fact that anyone could include a third party Javascript was a security nightmare.

I think I gave a demonstration by including an annoying self made script which had alerts messages popping up. That got Matt's attention!

The XSS flaw is a known security hole for vB 3.6.0 and can be manually alleviated by banning all HTML. This however forbids the possibility of posting embedded YouTube videos, etc.

It is also the key reason vBulletin released the 3.6.4 patch, which we will upgrade to soon, coinciding with a new dedicated server for the site, which will occur very shortly, the details for which will be released at that time.

BTW, I'm going to split this thread soon and am yet undecided with what to do with these posts. I'd like to preserve this thread and not make it a discussion about the XSS security hole, etc.

Thank you Ironduke and all those who organised and paid for the Butter Cookies.

I have just received my three tins and am in the process with my grandson finishing off the first tin (well, not really!).

Very good cookies.

Once again, thanks a lot.

Made my grandson's and my day!

Yes indeed, they are yummy. And the honor of having them hand-delivered by Ironduke (a scholar and a gentleman) was also prime.

Thanks!

I am honored for those words, and to have met you, you're very much a scholar and gentleman yourself. The discussion and banter stretched for 5 or 6 hours, and was thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening for me.

I hope to meet more WAB members in the future. I would like to make stops and visit other members while touring other areas of the US and the rest of the world when circumstance allows... but of course dalem lives just a few miles away, and most everybody else would require a plane ticket.

It was a bit delayed but I was finally able to do it . They arrived much quicker than I had anticipated... I just mailed them a week ago.

I hope you and your family enjoy them alot... they have a shelf life of several months when unopened, so you can save a tin or two.

One thing... I had forgot to send the nice note I had put in the box. I actually ate the first three tins originally intended for you (fed me for two days), and forgot about the box with the note in it.

It looks like THL and Bluesman are going to be up for tins fairly soon... and of course I owe OoE and Parihaka a tin as well (unless he'd want to run to the store and buy himself a tin as his contribution and receive a letter congratulating him . I still owe Leader a tin, despite his not being around for awhile.
