Jay can you mention some Indie rock bands I could download?

Hmmm I mostly listen to any music that's been done well. But let's see. I've religiously been listening to Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park for quite sometime. Hmmm Some all time favourites, in Pakistani band's like Entity Paradigm, Noori, JaL, Mizraab, but most of all Junoon!!

This Indian DJ, Rishi Rich (careful, thats not 'richie').

Black Eyed Peas, actually just 'Hey Mama'. Superstar by Jamelia, aah well as I said, if it's done right, I'd listen/like em. I got no taste :D

There are some listed on this page: http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Indie_rock . I like a few of 'em myself.

damn, lol. My bad, I thought Indie would have something to do with Indian (the ones in Sub-continent). Some of my Indian friends say the country almost went into Rock back in the 80s but it never clicked, amongst, Resident Indians.

LOL. Well I've listned to a couple Indian rock bands primarily from Chennai. Moksha is kinda good. I downloaded them from mp3.com a long time back.
We still have quite a number of rock bands in almost all the big cities, you know College cultural show participants

This might help,

When I was younger I loved Heavy Metal. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Quiet Riot were some favorites. Somehow I've ended up far from there, because now I love Electronica: Techno, Trance, Dance, House, all of 'em. My favorite is Milk Inc, particularily the song "Walk On Watter", but there is hardly any electronic music I don't like. http://www.tranceaddict.com/ has a ton of tunes, mp3 format mostly, in the "New Tracks" section.
i used to like Heavy metal also Same bands that you put down, now that I am older I can't listen to it. I like the old stuff now oldies, jazz , easy listening etc... the music old people like. Never thought I would like it . I guess thats what happens when you get older.

A few of my favs are:

The Mars Volta
http://www.themarsvolta.com
This is made from 1/2 the members from the awesome band At The Drive-In
and is some of the freshest, rockin' stuff i've heard in the past few years.
Warning: Their lyrics....they are very abstract and don't make much sense.
But it works! Check out the music on their web page

Coheed And Cambria
http://www.coheedandcambria.com
These guys are a little bit poppy, but their songs are very catchy. The samples on
their web page isn't their best stuff...but its pretty good.

Sunny Day Real Estate
These guys rule! They broke up around 2001 or 2002, but they were one of the
founding bands of the style called 'emo'. I hate that term but these guys rule!
My favorite album of theirs is probably Diary...but i dunno, they are all awesome.

Falling Forward
One of my favorite underground/hardcore bands of all time. They've been broken
up for awhile....good luck trying to find their album...they never went mainstream...but they were absolutely amazing.

Belly
This is not the rapper. Belly's singer,Tonya Donelly, is probably my favorite female vocalist of all time. Her voice just entrances me. My favorite album by Belly is King
They ROCK!!!!

Frente
Marvin The Album.....ohhhh what a great album!! Frente's singer is such a sweet heart and has the cutest most innocent voice ive ever heard. Labour of Love was one of their popular songs in the 90s

I also love most of the rock/metal groups that have already been posted in
this thread, but some of my other fav groups that are more widely known are:

At The Drive-In
Tool
Led Zepplin - My favorite band of all time
Guns N Roses - Axl is insane, but he rules!!!!
Pre-wussy (read: before the Black album) Metallica (has anyone seen their new documentary??? They've lost their minds)
Skid Row (Sebastian Bach...greatest voice ive ever heard)
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Queens of the Stone Age
Quicksand
REM (I used to not really like these guys, but I grew to really love em)
NOFX
Propaghandi
Violent Femmes

And of course the band im in....but we aren't done recording yet...I'll
let ya'll know when we are if you wanna give a listen.

I love many more, but I think I'll stop there I'm getting hungry and need to make some food!

I saw it. Very funny at times. It really helped me understand why Lars Ulrich is such a dick, and why their last few albums have been so bad. Only the ex band members(Newtead and Mustaine) came off well in that movie.

I listen to a lot of 80s metal, mostly Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, etc. I also listen to newer metal bands like Opeth, Nevermore, Hypocrisy, Death. I have a weak spot for classical/opera music. I'm not really into progressive rock, but one band, Porcupine Tree, I find to be amazing.

I play guitar, and that's translated into a like for neo-classical "metal", in the vein of Jason Becker, and other virtuoso guitarists. I also occasionally listen to flamenco.

Right now I'm primarily using Carvins. My main axe is a Carvin DC400. I've also used Jacksons in the past, but they lack some of the options I like, and they upcharge for left handed models.
