Had my transmission flushed

I decided to bring my car in, and get the transmission system completely flushed.

It cost me $122 ($112 + tax), I had them flush every ounce of old fluid out of my system and replace it with new stuff.

I simply can't believe how much performance has been restored. It was almost as if somebody had taken out my V4 and dropped in a V6, the difference was that much. I got to be careful on these icy roads though with all this knew power, I don't want to be going off the road anywhere

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they didn't replace the engine, a new engine would cost a few thousand dollars.

LOL, ironman, i'm pretty sure you don't have a V-4, and i don't even know what you drive.

Flushing all the fluid is a worthwhile endeavour, as you can see.

No, I have a four-banger.

I drive an 86 Pontiac 6000 LE. Later model 6000 LE's have six cylinders.

L-4.(inline 4)

V-4s are really only used in motorcycles.

Yeah, you're right, it is an L4. I use term V4 interchangeably with four-cylinder, my bad.

You know what sucks? Last week, the blower motor quit on me. Tapped it twice with a mallet, it started back up again. Figure it needed to be replaced, so got a new one for $23, but it hasn't gone out since last week.

If it does go out again, I will definitely replace it.

My engine is about as mint as you can get with this car. The car is 18 years old and has 82,000 miles. If you do the math, that translates to about 4500 miles per year.

It has quite a few years to go before I would even need to think about an engine replacement. Also, by that time, the car would probably have a KBB value of about $50.
