I recently upgraded my computer and I thought I did a pretty good job.

I wanted a new video card so I can play all the new games. But all the new cards use PCIe interface, so I needed a new motherboard. The new motherboard needed a new processor since there are no PCIe socket A boards in existance. The new card/board/processor consumed more power so I needed a new power supply.

End result: I kept the old RAM, old case, old floppy drive, and gutted everything else.

New system:
Athlon64 X2 3800+ clocked at 2.2GHz @ stock voltage
Geforce 7900GT clocked at 530MHz
Seasonic 430W power supply with up to 85% efficiency
1GB of DDR433 RAM retained from old system
36GB WD Raptor drive I bought 2.5 years ago as an incremental upgrade
250GB Seagate drive

I can play all the new games now without lag.

Gunnut, give me your computer to play BF2 on or my personal B-2 will commence an eighty-JDAMs saturation attack in five minutes.

Everybody always thought I was a girl when I would talk on the phone when I was 5. Used to make me so mad.

The name is not gurlie!
I chose 'Samudra' for my nickname because this king called Samudra was a great military chap - defeated nearly all kings in India during his time!

Oh she is! She certainly is!

Freakin' #$!@*#%! Thieves

If people could just leave their grimy little fingers off of stuff that does not belong to them and not remove things from retailers that they so obviously did not pay for I would not have just cut my hand trying to open a freaking Fairytopia Freakin' Barbie!! What the hell is all that anyway? Twisty ties, plastic clips, staples, her hair was SEWN to the cardboard box. SEWN!! A mother should not need security clearance from Mattel and a freaking machete to open Crystal the Freakin' Jewled Fairy.

In my day there were three steps to playing with a Barbie:

1. Open the box top
2. Remove Barbie
3. Remove that piece of plastic wrap they put over her head to keep her hair in place

Voila!!

Now there are a minimum of 6 twist ties, plastic pieces that wrap around her in the front, go through the back of the cardboard insert, and then are taped with some NASA invention to the back of the box. In addition, her head has gone through a singer machine so that you have to use a seam ripper to get her face off the box.

Next time I am cutting her at the neck, both legs and the arms and the child will get a pretty pink Barbie abdomen to play with since that is the only thing not secured.

Who Designed This Crap? Product Packaging, Where's My Chainsaw?

Cut, Cut, Gash, Gash
Mobile computers and accessories are cool. However the way they're packaged is a real horror show, almost literally. With impenetrable shipping envelopes and boxes as well as plastic blister packs sealed tighter than most tombs, it seems like vendors really don't want you to get to their products.

I'm an idiot

I had been thinking off and on about making a bid on an auction of some property being sold for a federal levy. Today when I went to the bank to get money to get a hair cut I thought while I was there ,"why not" and got a cashiers cheque for the deposit so I could bid. When I got home I realized I got it for the wrong (not enough) amount. I rushed back to the bank and got there four minutes after closing time. The auction is tomorrow (Sunday) and the banks are closed. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Don't you hate it when that happens? You finally arrive at some place, only to find out that they closed five minutes before you got there.

What's with this new Wishbone Salad Spritzer? Why must salad dressing come in a spray bottle? What's wrong with the old salad bottles?

Another thing...what did they do to the Hungry Hungry Hippos? The game my small room mate has is not the same as the one I had.

Then it wasn't meant to be, and it was probably in your best interest you didn't go.
