However, it does not explain why France and UK continued to supply India with weapons after 1956.

US was rabidly anti-Communist and were relatively young compared to France and Britain. France and Britain had dealings with India in the past and wanted to remain friendly towards India and did not have that kind of anti-communist rhetoric that US had.
