PKK 'downs Turkish chopper'
Breaking news...
Quote:
PKK 'shoots down Turkish chopper'
Kurdish rebels say they have shot down a Turkish Cobra attack helicopter during clashes in northern Iraq.
Ahmed Danees, head of foreign relations for the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the PKK, made the claim - which has not been independently verified.
"At 6 pm (1500 GMT) yesterday, our fighters shot down a Cobra helicopter," he told Reuters news agency.
Turkey sent its forces across the border into northern Iraq to take on the rebels late on Thursday.

According to Turkish General Staff, it's not shot down. It's just out of order for unknown reasons. Technicians are trying to repair it.

If it is shot down, then it validates Turkey's position that these heavily armed non-state actors.

That they are heavily armed has already been validated and accepted by a majority of world nations. However, Turkey's position is not to validate PKK as a non-state actor in its global meaning, but to validate it as a terrorist organization with full implications of its meaning.
