Broken,

Many don't give Bush any cerebral prowess.

Now that statement is very very intelligent and very loaded. Brilliant, in fact.

Can't argue that.

In general, what I have seen on both sides of the political spectrum being capable of.....it scares me sometimes.

I'm glad it was argued by all sides, I'm glad Saddam and the Baath are no longer in power as well. I don't want to fight the fights that I know I can win, I want to fight the fights that need to be fought.

If you look at it like that you will agree that there were fights that needed to be fought more than Iraq, right?

In general, what I have seen on both sides of the political spectrum being capable of.....it scares me sometimes.

In case you think I am just picking on Bush, here's a few more politicians having a cynical moment,

`I can do any Goddamned thing I want. I'm President of the United States. I take care of my friends and I **** with my enemies. That's the way it is. Anybody who doesn't like it can take a hike.'...Bill Clinton, in a White House staff meeting, as reported by Capitol Hill Blue's Doug Thompson in his column on 1999-Apr-8, regarding sicking the IRS on Ken Starr.

"Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it."… Ariel Sharon.

"I expect to be treated well by history, because I intend on writing it"…Winston Churchill.

“The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer.”…Henry Kissinger.

"Ninety percent of politicians give the other ten percent a bad reputation." ...Henry Kissinger.

Thank you for bringing me back to reality Confed. With all of this manipulation of the terrorists and other countries, I about lost it there for a minute.

I wonder how many will agree with this.

I just hope it doesn't come to option 2.

Which is utterly ridiculous.
The best thoughts about winning the peace were given by the State Department, who wrote a very long and very detailed report, which, in hindsight, was extremely accurate. It was, however, ignored by the Defense Department and the Executive Branch.

The military folks won the military part of this war. The politicians have not been doing a very good job with the political part, and it is costing lives.
