Silly Speculation
How do you know Iranian smuggling ops? Maybe exchange is made on or near the border with Iraqis. Maybe SAS is trailing Iranians back to their depots to locate where these weapons are stored prior to shipment. Maybe they're trailing Iraqi parties w/weapons back into Iraq for the same reasons- locate the customers. Maybe they trail to confirm targets for ambush teams further ahead.
Maybe THIS is the data which gives Petraeus such confidence in his accusations. Iranian on-call airstrikes as CAS against these guys? Laughable. They aren't being seen unless they desire so. Especially at night when most of these smuggling ops undoubtedly take place. If compromised somehow, these guys BREAK contact better than anybody in the world...and they're OUTTA there. Nobody here knows, as it should be, but they're there and that's cold-comfort to an al-Quds officer who's trying to shepherd his "packages" into the correct hands. ![]()

Granted, but I doubt we are blowing stuff up in Iran. Iran seems to love attention, and first the time one of theirs goes down within Iran's boarders they will be straight at the UN banging on about incursions into their territory.
Seems much safer to wait until they are well inside Iraq. |
