The latest Iraq war urban legend: Several female service members have died of dehydration because they refused to drink liquids late in the day due to fear of being raped by male soldiers if they had to use the women's latrine after dark.

This is absurd for countless reasons - the most obvious being that death by dehydration takes a little longer than a couple hours without fluids, even in the hottest conditions.

But this fabrication has an interesting source: Col. Janis Karpinski, former commander of the unit responsible for torturing prisoners at Abu Ghraib. And she's found a sympathetic forum in which to tell the story: The "Commission of Inquiry for Crimes against Humanity Committed by the Bush Administration" - a mock trial sponsored by "Not in Our Name", a group originally founded by members of the Revolutionary Communist Party to protest the US-led war in Afghanistan.

So not even officers are immune to the Insanity of the Left, it seems.

Obviously they are retarded. Unless those people did not drink for at least five days and were marching under the hot sun, there is no way in hell that could have happened.

Sir, you can get dehydrated in the hot sun in around 30 mins and suffer a fatal heatstroke.

Get your head around this:

It never happened, not dehydration, not heatstroke. It's a completely made-up LIE. No epidemic of rape (or even sexual assault) cases has occurred. No command abdication of responsibility has occurred that would lead to irresponsible rumors of rape that would lead to dehydration that would lead to heatstroke or death.

The only abdication of command responsibility that HAS occurred that was in anyway related to the individuals in this story was by Brigadier General (demoted to Colonel for cause) Janis Karpinski herself.

The woman disgraced herself once, now again, and she is trying to prove that nothing is her fault. She is a poor officer, and a disgrace to the uniform she once wore.

Her claims are false; IT NEVER HAPPENED.

Karp just doesn't seem up to M*A*S*H standards. One single line by Hawkeye is an even better joke than...well, half of her career. Two zingers from Alan Alda results in a tie with her.

Conduct Unbecoming may have been addressed, when she recieved an unkind letter from President Bush -and one thing he may have mentioned in said letter was when she snickered at the way he says "nuclear".
