shek,
What is the tradition (unofficial) followed in your unit for fallen soldiers and officers?...
In most Indian units we have a memorial (that can be dismantlled and moved), with the names of all the fallen brave etched on it, the exceptionally brave have their portraits in the coy ante rooms.

I started a tradition in the officers mess (which I picked up from a SOF unit) of puting a panoramic picture of the location where the officer fell and superimpose his picture in one corner.

Captain,

Doesn't your army follow British traditions? The Book of the Fallen?

Sir,
We have a roll of honour that is kept in the Quarter Guard.

Lemontree,
Outside of the official memorial ceremony, we (my battalion) didn't have a set tradition. We named our combat outposts for our fallen friends. Since I left the unit prior to redeployment, I don't know what was done at the BN HQ upon the unit's return.
