    PTSD and Police

For any of our LEO members, are you aware of specific literature on PTSD among law enforcement, especially those involved with shooting incidents? Thanks.

I'm not. In fact, my department officially refuses to admit that PTSD exists... although we do have a "critical incident response team", there is also a lot of denial (especially among cops themselves). I never really thought about it much, until my wife went through what I later (stupid!) realized was pretty classic PTSD after a fatal shooting in which a partner of ours was killed. We both basically figured it out at about the same time when I came back from my last trip to Iraq, and we sort of had to heal each other.

I'll try to dig around and find some more.
