Hard Power - hit the other guy as hard as you can.
Soft Power - get out of the way when he punches you and help him into a wall.
Hey guys, I was wondering if some of you'll could help me out a bit on contrasting Soft Power & Hard Power. I'm doing an essay on the word power and I just wanted to get some ideas from people who know a lot about it. If anyone would be so kind to help me out with writing about it, I would greatly appreciate it.
All views are welcome! ^_^

I always try to aim them into a projecting corner. Failing that, any piece of sturdy furniture with a nice sharp 90 degree angle will do. Landing on top of them is a nice touch if you can manage it.)

Duke,
I am not too sure that economic power falls in the ambit of hard power.
Ex: Indian involvement in Afghanistan in terms of economic aids and infrastrucural, educational, training and medical developement are well within the ambit of soft power.
Hard power is essentially militaristic.
And on the sixth day, God created the Field Artillery...
Depends how you use your ecenomic power. If you try to get your way by offering some benefital trades to someone its soft power, if you try to get your way by posing complete embargos or initate hostile take overs etc, i.e. try to hurt their economy I would say it becomes hard power.
uh I might be wrong
I know alot of definitions of power but have never heard of hard and soft power.
