S-2,
Thanks. I didn't have a chance to read this when I was cruising through SWJ and saw it again here. At some point I'm going to try and pick up these books. It'd be interesting to trace COIN throughout the history of the US Army. Amazon.com: US Army Counterinsurgency and Contingency Operations Doctrine, 1860-1941: Books: Andrew J. Birtle Amazon.com: U.S. Army Counterinsurgency and Contingency Operations Doctrine, 1942-1976 (Paperbound) (Center of Military History Publication): Books: Andrew J. Birtle
