As others have already said, Detroit has all the firepower anyone ever needs, but they play a more rounded style - everybody fore AND back checks all the time. If Babcock told Dats and Z that their responsibility was the opposing net to the exclusion of all else, their numbers would be the same or better than Crosby and Malkin - they're that good. And the rest of the team and scouted talent would still be there.

Ever since they started getting good again in the 90s it's been the same - look at Yzermans's career with the Wings. They told him straight up - with another team you'd be a 50 goal a season centerman, here you can be a leader and a winner and still get 30 goals a season.

It won't last forever because no dynasty ever does, but no one "does hockey" better than Detroit. No one. And everyone expects that. If the sports world wasn't desperate for their chosen storyboy Crosby to hoist the cup, there'd be 20 news stories on ESPN and NHL.com about the "aww shucks" kid from Muskegon, MI who just got 2 back-breaking goals in his first two Stanley Cup Final games rolling on the fourth line of "his" NHL team. But that kind of stuff isn't noteworthy coming from the Wings. Everyone knows they have a dump truck full of Abdelkaders waiting to go along with their scouted Eurotalent.

I think, like everyone else, that they'll split in Pittsburgh. Pens probably win tonight in overtime and lose Thursday. Which is great because then I can watch them win on their home ice on Saturday. At least the riot fires people set in Detroit that night will keep people busy.

Yeah, them pushing Cindy Crosby on us has really backfired. Last night at our game everyone of us except one person said that Ovechkin was better. Ovechkin made one mistake in the playoffs, and it was in game 7 for like the 4th goal when he tried to do it all himself and Crosby stole it and scored on the breakaway; that's when the announcers started saying "crosby" is the better player.

Pittsburgh and their rent-a-players lol Every deadline they acquire new players for the playoffs and in Sept those players are not there anymore.

If Pittsburgh loses again, which they seem destined to, what happens to them as a franchise? Can they get better than what they really are? If they lose again to Detroit, that's like the worst, what happens next? They're so close, yet so far.

The Pens did try to keep Hossa. They offered quite a bit of money too. But he left for Detroit.

Hossa was a great linemate for Crosby, but Guerin is better. Crosby dashes and makes his move then tosses it over for Guerin to score.

Osgood looks a bit off today. Its only 2-2 going into the 2nd period.

P.S, I'm going for the Penguins and I don't know why; I realized it when the Red Wings scored I got mad

I can only get the box score readout here at work. How was the game? It seemed like it was another back-and-forth from the updates.

First period was fast paced, thus the 2-2 score. The next 2 periods was all physical. Penguins had brilliant chances but they couldn't capitalize. They won 3-2 but they dominated the 3rd period. They might have momentum going now, so game 4 is going to be the one to watch. Other than that, yeah it was pretty much back and forth; Detroit didn't look like Detroit.

It's no fun winning the Cup on the road little bro.....they need to come back to Detroit for at least one more game.

Haha, nice to see you back bro

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking aswell. Funny thing is, last year the Penguins won game 3 too lol so it might be a psychological thing for them now ) If Detroit wins, I'd be glad to see Hossa hoist the cup.

Woof! Could only watch the box score thingie again, but man, it looks like the Wings really stunk the place up tonight.

They'd really lay down a severe ass-beating Saturday.

I was switching over from my Lakers to Penguins game, and it was 2-1 for Detroit, and then all of a sudden I switch back and its 4-2 WTFFF LOLL I literally yelled out "WTF" and I was like ohh myy, this is a real shocker.

Oh man, I can't wait for Saturday's game now, its going to be awesome ) I take my "finals are going to be boring" back now, this finals is way better than last years

I told ya - the Pens have no fear this year and they were good last year. I still don't think they're taking 2 of the next 3, but you never know. I'll be glued to my TV tomorrow night for sure.
