I'm not telling anyone anything they don't already know, but the Wings are just too deep and calm for a team like the Hawks.

I'm worried about the Pens though - they got over their respect of the Wings after 2 games last Finals. This year they're not going to give the Wings that kind of cushion. I dk enough about the 'Canes this year to know if I'd prefer them though. I think I would.

I like Carolina better. They've won before, they know what it takes and they will do whatever it takes to win. I just hope Maurice as a coach has big balls like Laviolette had back in the cup run.

Right now Crosby is carrying his team, everyone else is pretty much a bust. I think Chicago will win a game or two before the series turns nasty; Jonathan Toews is Canadian

Got to watch Game 4 of the Red Wings Hockey University today.

    Wow.

They should've charged the Hawks tuition & fees. And that was without Lidstrom, Datsyuk, and Draper.

Embarrassing loss indeed. Hawks are out. Looks like Penguins and Redwings finale once again. Viva la Wings!

I have been too depressed about the Ducks' loss to the Wings in the final 3 min of game 7. I haven't been able to watch hockey since. I'm just now getting back to normal.

Hawks don't stand a chance against the Wings. I don't think Pens can take down the Wings either. That best chance belonged to the Ducks with their deep defense and a hot goalie.

I might be able to watch the Finals on TV...

I dunno. The Wings are a steamroller for sure, but Crosby and Malkin are not of this hockey Earth. And they won't be in awe of the Wings this time out either. I figure it'll go to 7 and be an excellent series, and I certainly WANT the Wings to do it, but... I dunno. I think the Pens can do it this year.

Marian Hossa was on the Penguins last year, and now he's with the Red Wings. If the Penguins win this year, Hossa will be banging his head for the rest of his life; he did leave the Penguins to join the Red Wings because he felt they had a better shot at winning it all, again.

I do hope Penguins win, because if they don't, they will only be stronger next year which will put a thorn into my team the Capitals.

P.S nice to see you back GUNNUT, was just about to send you a private message, was going to yesterday but I got a call. Dale and I have been holding the thread down, the rest of you have been M.I.A

Thanks. I was drowning my sorrows by playing Company of Heroes every night. Somehow watching those little army men fight for my glory made things better. And to crush my enemies with massive artillery bombardment, sometimes sacrificing a friendly unit, or ten, was just icing on the cake.

I hope the Wings don't win. Then again, I do hope the Wings steamroll to the cup, proving the Ducks were just a call or two away from playing for the cup again.

    Company of Heroes :P

Well, on WAB you're in a company of distinguished gentlemen )

Sorrows? I hope its not girl related, I had similar sorrows a few weeks ago, took to the heineken

I hate the penguins. But the Red Wings are just getting too boring to watch, they just keep winning. Penguins should win it, with the help of all the refs and league Ducks will be amazing next year, if Niedermeyer returns.

Oh I always have girl related sorrows. That's why I watch hockey and play hockey.

    Then the Ducks lost...:(

Hopefully Ducks can keep their current roster. They finally found some chemistry near the end of the season. Hiller proved he can be the man. Selanne found a center who can keep up with him. Bobby Ryan fit well with Getzlaf and Perry.

I was most impressed with Pronger's performance in the Redwing series. He was the anchor for the Ducks. Nothing phased him. Wings tried to hit him but he just bounces off one check after another.

I wonder if the Ducks will trade Giguere. He has a pretty hefty contract. If Hiller can be the #1 guy, Giguere could be valuable to acquire some prospects or a scorer.

Haha, girl problems are peculiar I have a fetish for south asian women, but they don't seem to like me back, well not ALL of them, the ones that do get all emotional after about how it won't work in the end

I'd love to play hockey, but I play basketball, not that much organizing to do -just need a ball lol

Giguere is gone, you know why? He's already won a cup with the Ducks. Makes Burke look like a genius now don't it? He traded away Bryzgalov which everyone thought was a mistake, but now you have Hiller who's outstanding. The only reason I see them hold onto Giguere is if they're thinking Stanley Cup, and that all relates back to if Niedermeyer returns and they keep their starts intact -selanne, etc.

With the Wings it's depth, scouting, and depth.

And I'm a long-time Ozzie booster, so it's nice to see him getting some of the recognition he deserves.

    Dale,

you've just reminded me of what I wanted to discuss, but totally forgot. You know the Dallas organization, don't you think they're a bunch of hog washes? Like, with the whole Avery debacle, they were going on and on about how much respect, pride, and class they have as an organization, thinking they were like the Red Wing organization. It really really pissed me off. They won one goddham cup and all of a sudden they think they're a great franchise? I don't know, I just can't wait for Avery to play them again.

Osgood is an interesting specimen. He's a good goalie. Not great, just good enough, with some flashes of brilliance and lack of attention. His biggest asset is his thick skin. He doesn't care what fans or sportswriters say about him. Most goalies would crack under pressure like that. Not him. That makes him valuable to teams like the Redwings where fans can be brutal.

    Avery:

I was embarrassed by him when the Wings brought him up, relieved when they got rid of him, and I continue to think he's an embarrassment to the sport of hockey. He's got skills, but he's been encouraged to be a child and elevate that part of his behavior. The Stars did not make themselves look good during that whole affair.

    Osgood:

What gunnut said. Ozzie can handle the pressure sometimes better than he can handle the puck. But he's grown into a guy who can handle the puck reliably whenever he wants to. And how many guys could say "yeah, I realized I needed to be better so during the lockout I got myself some Eurotraining to elevate myself"?

    -dale

p.s. I want Manny Legace back too. He reminds me of Ozzie.
