It's funny reading the local paper talking about the Lakers and the Celtics. The focus is on how tough the Celtics are and Lakers need to get meaner to compete. Things like don't shy away from contact.

HA!

Duncan Keith finished the game despite losing 7 teeth in the 2nd period. Ian Laperriere blocked a slapshot with his face. Jeff Carter had surgery on his broken foot and then came back to play a month later.

Hockey players are more than tough. They fvcking nuts!!!

That is a good question. Why not more teams in Canada? True, Canada is only 10% of the population of US, but has much higher hockey fans per capita. I have a hard time believing that there are more hockey fans in Nashville and Phoenix than in Ontario.

Americans bought two of our teams. I felt bad for the Nordiques fans, first year in Colorado and they bring home the cup. :(

Congratulations to the Blackhawks. Hossa finally got his cup. I wanted to suggest that if he misses this one too, he might request a trade to the Sharks to improve his chances.

Did you see Jeremy Roenick getting emotional after the Blackhawks won the cup?

That last goal was a bit anti-climatic though. Kane was the only one celebrating for a few seconds before the bench jumped in.

It was close until they dropped the puck. Unfortunately,it looks like another long horrid year ahead for Leaf fans who will have to watch this mess they call a team. Tonight's game was beyond bad. It was pathetic. A team that even looks "comfortable", as they coast along the ice with tail tucked firmly between their legs,faces already pre-set into wild eyed looks of fear and panic. Between the frequent and much deserved boo,s the players couldn't,t even keep their chins off their chest,such was the sense of defeat and impending doom.It felt so Canadian. Hopelessly naive. A strange new sense of something lost.Looking more like team Euro every day. Way to go Burke. All this on the first damn day. These pain Meds make me so bubbly.

Too bad about Crosby not playing in the All Star Game this weekend. Personally, I think he got the concussion at the Winter Classic which I was lucky enough to be at.
