Good question. I'm guessing no one will want to talk about my Canadian issues but we'll see.

FLAMES: We are absolutely awful lately. Dropped 4 straight with 1 point in those games, and we're in San Jose on a back-to-back tomorrow night, so that doesn't look promising. We haven't been scoring lately, although tonight we potted 4 and let them score 5.

We have been the most inconsistent team in the last 3 years, and the one thing we could always count on - wins at home - is not a guarantee this year. The big 3: Phaneuf, Regehr, and Bouwmeester are playing below their pay grade in my opinion, with Giordano being our most consistent and best defensemen over the last month. All three got passed up for the Olympics, which goes to show how poorly they have played.

Jokinen has played much better after the first 2 months of the season, however he's hit about 30 posts this year, Iggi is in his biggest slump since 1997, and the secondary scoring has become sporadic.

I'm beginning to wonder if sinking 20.8 mil in your top for defensmen is a huge mistake. The value for a 6 million dollar forward would seem to be much more than a 6 million dollar defensemen. I like our team, and think the roster we have can work (and win) but everyone needs to be playing their best. We have arguably the best goalie in the league, the best defense on paper, and a defensive minded head coach and hockey system. It should all fit together and work, and at times it does, yet championship clubs don't go on 4-5 game loosing skids. I'm worried that this latest setback will almost force D. Sutter to make some trades that perhaps aren't necessary and just reactionary to the play as of late. Mind you Daryl has never been one for rash decisions.

    RANT OVER.

Canadian Olympic Selection: Unhappy with this as well. On defense I think Seabrook rode the coattails of Keith onto the roster and I don't buy the 'they are a defensive pairing so take both of them' argument. Doughty is too young to be on the team. Also lacking a defensive specialist/shutdown man which I think is needed. I would have probably taken Bouwmeester and Regehr. My Flames brain my be slanted in their direction, and given my rant above I certainty understand why they went another direction.

With the forwards I am unhappy with the Perry, Toews, Bergeron, and Stall selections. I think Richards deserves the spot as the 13th forward given his play this year and his ability to play any forward position and situation if called upon. Toews hasn't wowed my this year, and I think this was simply a pick to prepare for the future, which I'm not sure is a good idea. Would have preferred another large body (Lucic) to complete the grind line with Richards and Morrow, and would have Jeff Carter on my team. Stall is having a bad year (as is his whole team) so I have no idea how they justified putting him on the roster. Bergeron doesn't impress me too much, but I don't get to see him play all that often. Finally Perry's numbers indicate that he deserves a spot, yet he is a dirty/greasy player whose on-ice antics may wind up costing us more than he can contribute with actual hockey skill.

I still like the team and our chances for a gold metal, just some fine tuning I think would make them better.

Heh, the Flames just lost to the Ducks even though the Ducks were depleted from injuries.

The Finnish duo is out. Koivu has a sprained knee and Selanne has a broken jaw after being hit by a puck. Joffrey Lupul has an infection after his back surgery. He's out indefinitely. That's the entire 2nd line.

So after losing several games and playing well (Ducks game included) we go into the Shark Tank and get absolutely embarrased by San Jose. I mean embarrased, the Flames should be ashamed of themselves, I was embarrased to a fan last night. I'm going to the game on Thursday against the Blackhawks, if they don't have an amazing game and beat a contending team, I predict they'll probably miss the playoffs.

We're the same team playing in a different conference. Both have had a terrible slide in the last 10 games, and are in 9th spot in the conference.

My head tells me that something is wrong with the Flames and we need a change to win, yet my heart won't allow for any major trades, coaching changes, and management firings. So...I guess I'll wait and see.

Dude...Giguere traded to Toronto for Toskala and Jason Blake! This reunites Jiggy with Brian Burke and Francois Alaire. Toronto is all of a sudden a threat.

Unbelievable! Detroit gets 2 game winning goals in a row in overtime with less than 1/2 second left in both games. My son who lives and breaths the Flames was stupefied.(glad i bought him that sponge brick last year.) Since iv,e become a surrogate Flames fan until the Leafs are....wait for it.....in a play-off run,you still have to be impressed with the young Leaf team starting to gel a tad with some of the veteran players. Just watch this team in the future......sometime.......you know when they start to......nice weather eh. P.S.,sorry about your Basketball pick in the Collage tourney Mr. Prez.

Negative. I had a hockey game at 1130pm Monday night. Only 5 skaters showed up. So we essentially played ironman hockey. Roller hockey skates 4 per side. That means we get a 2 min breather every 8 min. Our normal shifts are 2 min skating and 2 min rest.

All I could do after the game was drink beer and sit on an ice pack.

Then I had to wake up this morning to go to work...

    Pat Burns sad last goodbye.

Sad to see how much this robust guy has succumbed to the cancer he has fought so hard against the last couple of years. Yesterday,a new arena was opened in his name and despite being in obvious pain, he articulated his happiness not at his association with the new arena, but in the fact kids in the area would have a new arena to play his beloved sport. Watching this event on TSN I had no Idea at first who the speaker was until his name was mentioned. He new he would not live to see the completion of the arena but went to the event and handled himself with class and courage. Bravo Pat Burns. Hockey is going to miss this guy.

I'm wondering if Huet really does suck this bad or is secretly getting paid off by the Red Wings.

Looks like Calgary has given up the season judging by the way they are playing against Boston this afternoon....horrible hockey for a team supposedly fighting for it,s play-off life.
