Last Updated: April 29, 2005 12:54 IST

Army dealt a major blow to militant groups in Kashmir, neutralising 152 ultras, including 38 top commanders, this year.

Pro-Pakistan militant outfits Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Hizbul Mujahideen bore the brunt losing 24 commanders, including three divisional commanders and 13 district commanders, according to army statistics.

Al Badr militant outfit also suffered heavily losing 10 of its men, including five top commanders.

Harkat-e-Jehad-e-Islami (two commanders), Al Barq (two), Tehreek-e-Jehad-e-Islami (one), Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Force (one), Jaish-e-Mohammad (one) and Jamiatul Mujahideen were other militant outfits that suffered major blows.

The people of the Valley played a significant role in the operations, army officials said.

Viola !
Kudos to the great sons of India , we truly are proud of you.

I say why should we simply care for a person , who swears to 'sneak' into Kashmir ? Is not that funny enough ?

Is the said person , by any means , enjoying any crediblity and respect compared to the press delegation that visited Kashmir a few months back ?

The Pakistani press delegation found what ? WHAT ?

Yeah right ... and Asim in a guerilla warfare the side with the numerical advantage usually loses a lot of people since they usually wont have the support of the local population. Its quite opposite in the Kashmir now. More and more localites are taking up arms and are guiding the army against the intruders.
you azad kashmir dream is a lost cause Asim, very much like Khalistan. your heroes have become zeroes in kashmir

Anyone who spills innocent blood in the name of anything represents one of the most potent curses to afflict mankind.

I'm shocked that some people actually sympathise with these people and refer to them as freedom fighters.

If one looks at the history, even the Indian freedom struggle, the lessons are clear. It was through non-violence that India gained her freedom, inspiring peaceful civil liberty movements all around the world. People like Martin Luther King.

The French revolution, or even Reformation in Europe, all became influencial movements because of their peaceful mode of rebellion.

Under this light, Pakistan's terrorist agenda is doomed to fail. This is an absolute certainty.

Congrats to the people of J&K for showing the finger to Pakistan.

It was Jinnah's aggressive debating powers that left the Brittish speechless that got India her freedom. Gandhi used to stop eating food.

That is the most distorted, bigotted and misinformed view that I've ever had the misfortune of reading.

Oh man, this looks more like a comical play than a debate !

P.S - It is clear that attempts are being made to provoke us repeatedly with sheer junk. It's not going to work.
