Stolen, bought from the black market, or bought from the AFP itself...

Knew it would... as we all know the Southern Philippines is one of the major fronts in the WoT and the major front in SE Asia... too bad the terrorists are so well equipped as one can see...

First picture is of a Karen guerilla fighting the Burmese Junta...

    Second of Moro guerillas...

    Third of Communist guerillas...

Edit - Actually it seems to show backwards so reverse...

    2 questions:

    1. None of these guerillas are carrying the ever-popular-amongst-Communist insurgents AK?

    2. Is the one guy in this picture carring an M1 Garand?

    1. None of these guerillas are carrying the ever-popular-amongst-Communist insurgents AK?
    Logistics.

In fact the guerillas (Red and Moro) go as far as to buy black market M-16s from Cambodia, Vietnam, North Korea and even the Philippine military. They find bullets from the AFP. AK-47s used to turn up but they stopped importing them for the reasons of finding bullets for them. In fact ealry on Moros had FALs and G-3s as well supplied by Libya.

The ASG is flush with money and still buys M-16s, M-14s along with getting other goodies in western calibers.

Just proves the only ideal guerilla small arm is one they can find bullet for.

    2. Is the one guy in this picture carring an M1 Garand?
Yep that is a very common rifle among guerillas and terrorists in the Philippines along with the M-14, M-16A1/CAR-15, M-203 and M-60. The M-1 Garand and M-14 have proven to be very deadly in trained hands in ambushes and for sniping.

Moro arms industry has actually been able to turn out local RPG-2 copies which is another trade mark of Philippine guerilla groups. They can also build HE rockets, though not HEAT. Then there is the normal range of 60mm and 81mm mortars.

    Some pictures of them...
