Indeed it is hilarious, but not in the way you think it is.

Soldiers are soldiers. Fakes are fakes.

I've never been a soldier, but I sure as hell have encountered a lot them...and a lot of fakes as well. I know what they both sound like.

Guess which one you sound like...loud and clear.

By the way, the next time you post something like that about Sniper, or any other long-time respected board member again, you'll be nothing but a distant memory on this board. Consider this your only warning.

You seem to assume too much.
A 20 year old Israeli Soldier (pst! Try using the term IDF) that talks like a Brit and doesn't know the difference between a Kalishnakov and Armalite's. And yes there is a difference.

Now fire away with the anti-Semetic accusation like you did when Snipe insulted Judaism by calling you a smacked ass.

Well it's good form to give a reason why you'd kill him.

And in case you handn't noticed, the last number on his IP is 187...and doesn't match up with the Jewish Assassin's/Manhattan punk's

However, the fact that he's raised the suspicions of four members of this board representing both the NCO Corps and Officer Corps (both company and field grade) across three different countries with probably around 50 years total of military experience doesn't bode well for his case. His reasoning for not wanting to disclose information doesn't jive with his story (I can't tell you because I shouldn't be posting on a message board ) nor with the fact that some of his fellow countrymen appear not to feel so constricted with what they post.

That doesn't mean that we are authoritative, but armies tend to be people organizations, and so it's the business of leaders to know people and to form judgements as to whether or not a person is trustworthy and if he should be on your flank in battle. Given that all four members have actually been in combat before and have had to rely on this trained instinct to judge people, this is not something that I would take lightly. Once again, though, that is for you to decide.

If he shouldn't be posting, then he shouldn't be here. If it's not an issue, then he has no reason not to divulge some simple facts that don't jeopardize operational security or techniques, etc. When challenged on this, he's fallen back onto an anti-Semitic defense as if it invokes some kind of moral fifth amendment or something.

    Bottomline, his story is self-contradictory.

You're an accomplished diplomat sir. I'm jealous of your people skills(seriously).

I'd have just told the kid to STFU while we work, as he might learn something in the process if he could keep his head out of his ass long enough.

    LOL....

Indeed it is a kinder and gentler military nowadays. I shoulda seen this coming when the Army banned the cadence "Napalm sticks to kids".

You new guys are so sensitive to decorum. I didn't even know what the hell decurum was first time my CO spat the word out...i had to look it up.

Good point. I just bribed the neccesary NCO with some beer if me or my guys needed something. Much different approach.

War Angel has given me a little bit of info about his career, and it seems realistic enough (although given my lack of military experience I can't say for certain). He has asked me not to repeat it, and while I don't really see the big deal, I will do as he asked. If War Angel is deemed a fraud by mods or admins then we will deal with it (which could well happen soon) . I'm not asking you guys to play nicer with him then you would with any other newbie-who-looks-suspicious, lets try to keep the rhetoric focused on the issue at hand...not, oh say, 14 year old Palestinians

Excuse me! He gave you, a complete stranger he doesn't know, info that he already stated that it was classified? It doesn't work that way. If you're cleared for that info, so are we all.

As pretty much OoE said - you're job as a NCO is to provide the tough love (i.e. STFU) so we get to be the good guys

Now, as far as being diplomatic - it has its advantages. The few times I did lose my cool over something, it certainly got the message across (oh sh!t, the CO really is steaming mad this time - we better fix this ASAP or 1SG is going to be knee deep in us!). You know you've done good when your driver and vehicle commander turn to you and say "Damn Sir! That was a good one!"

An Recon Team Leader in the Recon Platoon had a theory that learning and disciplined occured through three methods in the Army - pain, repetition, and embarassment. All three are used to incredible effectiveness by the NCO Corps. I found embarassment to be an extremely effective tool to use - not in the sense of putting a guy down in front of the company (except on rare occasion, like the FM net a$$ chewing), but in terms of challenging one's pride.
