Jamming problems? Must've been something wrong with your weapons. G3's are known for their reliability. Was it the bolt gap?

What does the G3 have over the G36?

Bundeswehr soldiers state that the G3 was more rugged than the G36. Which makes sense, given a steel vs. polymer receiver.

Although I like precision over power, I made an exception and picked the Ak-47.

Not only does it have a powerful public image, but it's super reliable, even if it's not accurate.

Personally, I do like the stopping power of the 7.62mm at close range.
I have no idea what I'm doing. Honestly!

Unfortunately, chances that any army will adopt the Masada assault rifle are very low.

Next to zero chance. The Army has (foolishly) decided to go with the M4 again, and Special Forces are more interested in the HK416 than the SCAR they will probably get anyway.

Ah the AK, a deadly weapon in the right hands but to answer your question yes the Steyr AUG is good. In fact it isn't merely good it is an excellent weapon. Durable, versatile, light, accurate and simple all describe that rifle (I could be accused of bias but it really is an excellent piece of equipment). I have heard the Aussies had some trouble with their own version but we in Ireland have a used it for many years and have never had reason to doubt it (straight from Steyr Mannlicher Austria). I speak from user experience with the AUG and not merely on its aesthetics.

Yep, the Aussies had problems with their domestically produced F88. The Austrian-made ones have none of those issues.

What are the problems seen as coming from? It isn't sand is it? Cuz neither Austria nor Ireland have much of that..

Well perhaps not so low after all Norway just bought the HK416 and HK 417. but chances of it showing up in US army hands are pretty much out of the question any time in the foreseeable decade. Eventually there will have to be a change in US small arms but there is a force in the Top that is fighting a upgrade tooth and nail. in the mean time MASADA and PDR are probably going to find homes in Law enforcement.

    Terran

Would I be right in saying this is related to the sort of thing you find in many nations, the sad and backward "home grown is always best" lobby . Its a problem suffered by nearly every nation in some way shape or form and stems from the petty end of nationalistic pride.

Ekhm... Norway hasn't bought the 7,62 mm HK417 battle rifle, this is a false information. And the H&K status is much different than the status of the tiny MagPul in the US. FYI Norway special forces use the Diemaco (now Colt Canada) SFW carbines, more or less similar to the HK416 assault rifle.

I am quite sure, that the change will be in the next decade, most probably to the Mk 16 Mod 0 (SCAR-L) assault rifle.
in the mean time MASADA and PDR are probably going to find homes in Law enforcement.
We will see. Masada shows a great potential, but developing assault rifle takes time and money, and relatively small purchases from civilian and LE market (several hundreds, a thousand maybe), doesn't change the situation.
