    Battlefield potential of blowguns

    I understand that blowguns are not used much these days, but somewhere long ago I heard that the US Army has a blowgun that can shoot accurately up to over 600 yards. So I am curious as to whether blowguns still play a role in the battlefield - or at least have military applications beyond discreet assassination and tranquilizing unruly animals. Much obliged in advance
