    Swiss K31

Shot one today at the range and was impressed.
    Thinking about getting one.
Any thoughts Pro or Con? Warnings? Recommendations?
    Thanks in advance.

The K31 has always interested me Gau,but I've never owned one. They are supposed to be mechanical works of art. Here's a link to a site that might help.

If you do get it, please, post a review... I've heard great things about it...

These tend to be excellent rifles, exhibiting the very highest level of workmanship. Stocks on surplus examples show a fair amount of wear, but they are still tack drivers, usually capable of 1 MOA or better out of the box.

Assuming this will be in 7.5mm, pick up as much ammo as you can as soon as you can; its getting scarce.

Ouch. Thanks for the heads up. That point may be a show stopper.

BTW Guys, this rifle was a sweetheart to shoot. It has a long, light pull on the trigger before it tightens up for business. It's odd but you get used to it fast. As far as accuracy and recoil, imagine a Springfield 1903 in a light .308 load. For the short time I got to handle the rifle, I was impressed with its "Swiss Watch" workmanship.

    Shamus: Thanks for the Link.
    ace16807: Count on it.

Thanks for the advice Guys. I really appreciate the help before laying down cash. I'll stew it over and look at one Monday.

    You're welcome.

I see that the price is pretty reasonable on surplus Swiss GP11 ammo just now, so it could be an auspicious time to pick up a rifle.

Ammoman has a 480 rd case for $275 delivered. AMMOMAN.COM

Dan's has the same case for $214.95. I have never ordered from Dan's so can't speak to shipping costs. Dan's Sporting Goods Ammo Page

Swiss surplus is the best production ammo you will ever encounter; it is hyper consistent, allowing repeatable groups. The best factory AR ammo made is surplus "5,6mm Swiss."

I found one in a gun shop in Rhode Island. It is a veery nice example of the rifle. I would have bought it except I was looking for a hunting rifle that shoots a little heavier loads. If any of you guys are interested in it, I can point you in the right direction.
