Then we'll crash at yours and go shooting afterwards.

I think that it would be cheaper and much more fun if we meet up at Cadpipe's, as he has loads more toys than I do, and much better quality, plus I always wanted to go to the US of A., so we may as well get it over sooner rather than later.

I fear that spending any lengthy period in the USA will result in a deep reluctance to leave. I'll end up applying for jobs as gun bearer, cleaner etc.

BTW., I live in a cave .

Well, you will have to wait till I have recovered so I can play too.
Unfortunately, according to the Surgeon, that's about 3 months.

I'm about 6 months or a lottery win away from having enough money saved to make my stay worth its while.

Get well soon, buddy.

I suggest you win the lottery and relocate here, what good is all that money if you can't buy guns! I just had to make a tough choice, spent what would have been two Barretts, goes for the empty lot next to my house. Almost would rather have the Barretts. But perhaps I can build a berm to shoot pistols into. there is no law against it where I live, might piss of the neighbors, but that's the way it goes. or I might be able to get some 36" concrete pipe bury it some feet and run a target pulley system in it, and have a 50-60 foot range. Ah, the possibilities.

I always wanted to go to Germany and thats the one place uncle sam never sent me. Guys used to talk about it all the time how pretty and clean everything was there. Has to beat the crap out of the deserts and jungles I got sent to.

I like caves. Wife says to me all the time "you think you live in a cave?!" Damndest cave I ever saw! You don't have to put siding and shingles on a cave.

Sounds to me gents that we have a goal in mind. I promise if I ever hit the lottery we'll all load up, swing by and pick up Glyn, go find gunnut and head for the desert! Loaded! Anyone else ride motorcycles?

I'd like to own a Glock 20.It's in 10mm Auto.I've found out that full-power ammunition for it is hard to get.I think glock are just as good as H&K guns. The problem is that Glock only manufactures guns, and knives.HK makes pistols, but they are also selling guns such as the G36 ,HK-416 rifles. They also produced the HK21/23 machinegun/s.A modular machinegun system. The HK21 was named the best medium machinegun in the world. And the 416 5.56mm assault rifle is deffinetely bewitching. They came up with the PDW called MP-7,and the 40mm GMG.Also you got to know the MP-5.

I think that it depends on what you are best at shooting with.I love the Gkock G20,G35 and G22.But I still think that the Mk.23 from HK is the best...

What merits/problems do either pistol have? I don't really know Glocks very well, what model would be suggested? (he wants a mid-size .40S&W) Thanks.
Best suggestion for your dad:

Obtain a Glock and a USP, either borrowed from friends or rented at a gun range, and shoot them side-by-side at a range. Test the two at a leisurely pace and buy whichever your dad likes more.

You know, I've heard people arguing forever back and forth over whether semiauto handgun X or Y is better, and my own experiences have led me to conclude that, with occasional exceptions for specific models, the major companies all produce comparable handguns. A used Taurus 24/7 that doesn't have any major defects and loaded with hollowpoints or Hydra-Shock bullets will be just fine for most people and can be had for $300.

My dad has settled on a glock, either the 17 or the 19 in .40 S&W. Hopefully I'll get some time at the range with it.

I guess it didn't win NRA Handgun of the Year for no reason after all.

What caliber gun do you own?

You've got a Taurus PT-111 there, not a 24/7. I have actually been thinking of buying both, the first in 9mm as a concealed carry gun and the second in .45.
